Louisiana in the past has had a $10 Millionaire Raffle game, but they haven't done it recently. Louisiana is in the First Millionaire of the Year raffle and have posted their list of 19 finalists. They did it on a scratch off that also was part of the Powerball Nascar drawing.

Can't wait to see if my state sends someone to NYC

I checked Arizona's lotto website, and there is no info on the Powerball raffle for 2023.

No, PA does not have a link for playing the raffle online, but when the game goes on sale it's possible they will. I'll keep an eye on it.

In my opinion, Pennsylvania has consistently delivered an excellent raffle structure for the longest of any lottery in the USA.

The PA Millionaire Raffle was my fave while I lived in New York State, and I drove an hour (multiple times) over to PA to buy them! Like New Jersey, New York State doesn't offer a raffle and IMHO they are missing the boat big time.

Same years back, New York had a special holiday drawing, but discontinued it.

I was up in Montana visiting a friend and I grabbed a few raffle tickets from two different stores on my way back to Utah. The lines were long and people were excited. I also picked up some Idaho raffle tickets along the way. But I'm more excited for Montanas drawing.

I wish Florida would bring back their Raffle....

In my opinion, Pennsylvania has consistently delivered an excellent raffle structure for the longest of any lottery in the USA. I really like the weekly early bird drawings that deliver really good prizes, and the main drawing offers a nice spread of cash prizes. Tickets go on sale next week, so I'll be starting my weekly ticket buy.

I am frankly mystified as to why New Jersey doesn't offer a raffle every year. On the years they do offer it, their raffle always seems to have a good structure... [ More ]

I wish Louisiana would switch to online entries because I get hand cramps from writing those tickets and am tired of having to buy stamps and envelopes.

Lucky states that get to have a raffle and the odds are much greater to win vs the big dog lotteries.

Had forgotten all about Dick Clark's Rockin' NY Eve. Went to check how many entries there are in my name and that part of the website conveniently isn't working right now.

LOL...the post office ! They can't even ship a package 10 miles away without losing it and their customer service is horrible. I wouldn't trust them with anything.

Id be curious as to what others on this board think about a usa raffle....

Maybe, as I suggested before, have the tickets be purchased at your local us post office and maybe it somehow some of the proceeds go to reducing the cost of postage.

This would be a win win for the postal service and the consumer ..... Think how the postal service could take on FedEx and ups with more affordable postage ....think how the consumer benefits from all three competing for your business.

The idea is that tickets are bought and the money goes into this pot for a December drawing.

All the tickets that are sold are put into the draw and depending on the size of the pot at the drawing time, the number of winners is determined at that point after the close of sales.

So yes in the US the pot can get to over billions, the idea is embracing the holiday season and spreading the cheer.

As for the groups and such, mostly it would be fun if families contributed to the tickets.

Okay I hear you on the 2 bil the 40,000 players and the 50 000 dollars ea ......

So you'd suggest that over groups or clubs buying shares ($10 perhaps) instead of having $1.... 1 player? Because your thinking really makes it a 50000 jackpot not 2 bil and well I dunno ..... anywho what do I know.

Just tossing (gently of course) frogs to the rain here that's all.

I am picturing a 2 billion pot and a guaranteed 50K for 40,000 players that is tax free (that's quite a stretch on the tax bit lol)

Tickets should be $1 each and sales start in October and draw made in mid December.

That would be something to look forward to and maybe it would be easy to find someone who knows a lottery winner lol.

Wouldn't it be great if the USA had an el Gordo jackpot raffle much like Spain does? Maybe Christmastime and independence day.

I think it would bring people together.

Imagine how much $$$ would wound up in USA el Gordo? And all the winners with there shares of the prize?

And because it would be a federal raffle ...those states without a lottery could still play.

Maybe sell the raffle at the post office in each town or city?

Just saying.
