Virginia is a heavily populated state and a lot of people who do not usually play the lottery will instead buy raffle tickets. I have had a lot of coworkers ask me about the raffle over the years. The tickets seem to be gone by 12-21 usually. I doubt they have issues selling them. Some people just wait till the last minute to buy them.

Yes, every year I notice that as well. I believe the VA lottery waits until a certain date before the raffle drawing and whatever raffle tickets that are not sold, they take them out of circulation and say that the tickets have been sold out. No way, if there are 20K raffle tickets left 2 or 3 days before the drawing, that they will be sold out that fast at $20 a ticket

Congratulations. guess he likes the Shalamar song 'Second time around.'

A few days before this raffle closed, VA lottery posted an astronomical amount of tickets were unsold. Then suddenly another FB post that all were sold just like that.

A Virginia man emerged as one of the lucky winners in the Virginia Lottery's New Year's Millionaire Raffle for the second time.

A Virginia resident collected his second win from the annual raffle that took place on Jan. 1, 2024.

In 2012, Nathan Dean won the second-tier prize in Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle. This year, he's done it again.
