At least one previous PB jackpot. Oregon is also the only place that sold a jackpot winning ticket through a valet service. IIRC the winner was from Iran (possibly Iraq?) but I think the prize was too small to be PB or MM.

I blamed it on the eclipse, the moon blocked some of the heavenly sent energy that caused the powerball system in Tallahassee, Florida went bonker, and prevented the birthday numbers from being drawn that includes God's birthday, his wife birthday, and his son Jesus birthday.

I will say this.... A 3-hour delay absolutely had an impact on who won and lost. Had the draw been on time those numbers certainly would not have been the winning set. The butterfly effect is real!!

A recent Bankrate survey showed that 66% of American Households could not cover a $1000 emergency with cash from their savings .

So then who are we kidding that even 50K is money to be frowned upon.

I don't believe the lottery is rigged (at least the non RNG games). But, I will say that this is the 2nd time that Powerball has had to delay results. The 1st time this occurred, there was a huge drop off in the rate of sales, and they still haven't recovered that volume from one draw to the next. Based on sales and recalling the fact that every drawing resets the probabilities, the most likely outcome of this particular drawing was that there would be NO winner (nearly 70%). However, most likely doesn't mean guaranteed because of....probability.

You don't need a QP machine conspiracy because every jackpot game has duplicates (losing + winning) due to the random nature of the lottery. You can figure this with the below formula:

That is a good point. Not all jackpot amounts can set someone for the rest of their lives, but some can put them in a good position so they won't have as many worries. It can get rid of debts and leave some aside for emergencies.

It seems fairly obvious that the Quick Pick option must be programmed to not only spit out so called random options, but to also NOT produce DUPLICATE tickets with the exact same combination of five numbers and the powerball. I think we got so blinded by the billion dollar jackpots people think that 1M is loose change.

For the second prize winners that live in a state that doesn't tax the lottery that's 630K after taxes.

630K won't necessarily buy you a mansion or a yatch, but 630K can leave someone debt free and a little towards retirement.

630K is not an amount to be frowned upon.

That's my attitude towards the game.

This past week, I matched Zero on the Tuesday and Friday MM and matched Zero on the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday PB.

But you know what, I am still in it.

Will head out and buy my QP for PB - one line three draws and one line two draws for MM. As always adding the extra $1 - total ticket cost is $15 for the week.

A 5.9M win after taxes is a life changing amount for me.

Hitting 2nd prize would be life changing.

They raised the price of the tickets and $40M was an incentive.

Just checked my g mail. $12 winnings confirmation. Only had PB of 9; all numbers chosen by rolling my Ottolball.

My friend bought me about a week's worth of a PB and it won $7 from Indiana. Will cash that out today. It has two more drawings on it.
