RJOh,I accept Powerball and MM as random, unbiased. I know others would disagree, but every matrix I've built is based on randomness. Ultimately I think the lottery has balance. Randomness has dventual balance...yes you'll get hot and cold numbers, high and low, but in the end it balances out.The matrix we're talking about is one of the first I developed. I do not think it's exceptionally accurate, but I keep it around since it's easy to maintain. I track the mean value by position for all... [ More ]

JAG,Using your data, I checked the PowerBall file for winners within a 2 numbers (plus or minus) derivation of your data.1st = 7-112nd = 16-213rd = 26-304th = 34-385th = 43-47I found only 14 of the 220 past winners had 3 numbers in those positions within those limits, so how can that information be used to pick a future winner?RJOh

I keep running totals of the mean value per position for both Mega Millions and Powerball. My totals are for the whole game, the last 30 draws, last 10 and last 5.The current Powerball stats (220 draws) are: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 8.90 18.28 27.83 35.80 44.85 Sometimes I find it useful to compare these numbers over time...but it's not a matrix that I depend on heavily.

The old FL Fantasy 5 game with 5/26 ended 7/15/01. I decided to analyze 895 draws starting 1/1/99 to see if any usful data could be derived for making money. I discovered that after 50 draws the mean number per position did not change significantly, so that position1 to 5 showed :4.4-8.9- 13.2-17.8-22.4 resp. If one had selected 4-9-13-18-22 to play every day for 2.3 years there did not seem to be a jackpot win, which is not surprising, considering there are 65780 combinat... [ More ]
