i think all other states players should boycot the multistate game until the promotion is over then the state offering the free ticket will be pressured by the state officals in the other states to end the unfair advantage created by such a offering

ya have to buy $5 on the same ticket qp or your pick and you get a free ticket . Ive spent $15 so far and lol trust me no luck at all theyve all had the mb being the same as a wb. And that doesn't happen that often. In fact I have a 1---- with a mb of 1 lol. next week ny is doing it with lotto then i think take 5.

with a jackpot this size, there will be a lot more people buying tickets in multiples of 5 or 10, so quite a few free tickets will be given out. don't forget about people crossing the border from PA, CT, and since NY is the only Mega Millions State having the promotion, NJ and MA too.

Its up to the states to do whatever they want. Michigan has had those type of promotions before also. Those extra tickets might ad a couple thousand more tickets. Doesn't really help the odds that a free ticket will win the jackpot. The state will probably lose more money than it takes in on these promotions.Brad

http://www.nylottery.org/index.phpFeb 27 - March 5. It doesn't seem unfair to me, as long as NY kicks the same amount in for the jackpot on the free tickets. The odds haven't changed for me, what do I care where the tickets are sold? It will be interesting to see if there's a winner from NY this week.

I agree with jsk2001. That is unreal! There is no difference here whether it be one ticket given away or ten, it still creates an unfair advantage for the state of New York. When does this go into effect

New York is offering a buy $5 worth of Mega Millions tickets, get an additional $1 ticket for free. That increases the chances that the jackpot will be won in New York.
