While Ayeknowitall has been on a losing streak, I have been on a winning streak. Two drawings ago I won ten bucks. I have had the powerball in the last two drawings. I probably shouldn't complain but my winnings come no where close to matching my losings.

I should have slept a little longer. The only number I matched last night was the 8 on one of my QP lines. I'm on a perfect winless streak for PowerBall since the new 5/55 matrix was implemented. The 8 and 54 were the only repeaters last night. That leaves 19 numbers that haven't come out in these ten draws. Sorry, but I only buy my own tickets and I don't generally buy quickpicks anyway. I don't want any confusion should I win.A few years ago, a woman tried the I lost the ticket scam to try to claim a prize. The real winner was able to demonstrate that her ticket was what it was - the real winner - by producing a record of her previous purchases of the same numbers.I'm off to get my tickets now, using my winner that I'm cashing in. I had something unusual happen today. I had 5 lines printed on one sheet. I got the power (14) on one ticket, and 3 of 5 two lines down, for a total of $10. Not bad.Of course, I don't post the many times that I get zilch.

This is getting ugly. Last night I matched only one number (10) on one of my five lines. That adds up to no cash. I've played a total of forty lines in these eight draws without cashing a single ticket. The overall odds of 1 in 36.61 are even beating me! Well, I play 5 to 8 bucks per draw, my own choices and some QP's and I haven't had a winner in the past 2 months so I can't really say. I feel like I'm going through a dry spell, as I haven't even had an intuitional hunch. Oh well. I just keep hoping.

just got back from a week in atlantic city.at a casino i got 5 bucks of qp's,didn't win one was a mb of 11,which was just drawn,i never win at a casino lottery machine.upon leaving,got 5 more,and on ny throughway got 5 more,one has mb 5 on it twice.

I changed up things a little for last night's PowerBall drawing. I played five lines as usual, but I only used one QP for the red PowerBall. I took the number 42 for the other four. I also took only one QP for my5/55 selections. Among those, I managed to catch only the 49 and 50. I had to take the fifty since it was going so strong, but the 49 was just a straight up guess. September 14th 2005 10:27 p.m.I purchased 5 lines of powerball with the powerplay option and my best line was the first one I had a 1+0. The rest were goose eggs so since the new matrix change I have not gotten a winning line yet. On to saturday and the 92 million jackpot.

Referencing my above post...I think it's also interesting in Draws 1 and 2, the 50 and 43 are in the 4th position (sort order) for Mega Millions and the 5th spot for Powerball. This flip-flops on Draw 3, and then switches back on draw 4 for the 48 and the 50.

People complained about low jackpots and now to satisfy them they increased the already almost impossible number field by even MORE numbers! That's just ONE of my definitions of INSANITY! :-)I rarely play PB or MM. BUT I think the key is very very careful number selection strategies. Good luck to you.

I managed to match three numbers last night. Unfortunately, none of them was on the same line. I played my usual $5 ticket and had one number on each of those five lines. I caught the 10 on the first line, the 11 on the second and third lines, and I had the 48 on the fourth and fifth lines.None of my five different red PowerBall numbers matched the 16. Yes the new matrix has messed things up for me..... I must admit I have had runs in the past for 1 or 2 wins per 5 dollar ticket for 3 and 4 dollars, but now nothing since the change! One month before the change my picked numbers won for 100 dollars and one Qp line on another ticket won for 4 dollars! I'm convinced that the key to Powerballs difficulty in cracking it lies in the machine they use. There's very little room for weight between balls to make a difference. Gravity-pick machines in general are tough to crack, but Powerball and it's Halogen machine take the cake.

Since MegaMillions has a decent jackpot most of the time, the matrix of the MM and PB are similar and driving to Indiana just to buy lottery tickets seems like a waste of gas, I'm just playing the local MegaMillions. Maybe if I concentrate on the one game, I will do better.

Aye, good to see you around the forums.The exciting thing for me is that Powerball didn't change the Red Powerball matrix...still 1/42, so I feel fine using the past 304 draws as solid history. I'm not sure if the draw machine was changed??I'm holding off right now on playing PB until I can get a grip on the 5/55. Plus, MM is on its 6th?consecutive run of hitting $100m jackpots

If your strategy is to by some QPs, then the new formats shouldn't change it. With MegaMillions, all the additional numbers have now hit at least twice so players can compare the last 13 drawings to the last 345 drawings to get a sense of how the new format might change their strategies in the future.My sense is if their strategies were working, they will continue to work, just not as often. Frankly, I don't think it could or can be cracked . There are just too many combinations. I spend $3 -- most often I just randomly pick 5 numbers myself, then let the computer QP the Powerball. Sometimes I reverse that procedure. Unless I forget to do it, then I go with entire QPs. This is a game where...if you're going to win, you're going to win. But there's little if anything you can do to better your odds, so I'm not going to spend much time on it. It's luck.

Yeah, many players must have felt the same way as you after the first drawing, because they sold about $3 million less than normal for that drawing, but then on the second drawing, sales were back to normal for that particular jackpot level.
