I guess you are just out of luck as far as playing your numbers in an out of state pick5 game, but you still have your friends and sister to play your numbers and hopefully they will like you enough to share their winnings with you even if you can't legally share their cost. Receiving lottery tickets through the mail is the part that is illegal. No body send money through the mail with Western Union, credit cards and money orders being available. Send your sister a check, money order or western union with the money. If you win you will have to come to Ohio to claim the jackpot or have her claim it, paid the taxes and send you the rest minus a fee for her troubles.

Yes, sending money via U.S. Mail for the purchase of a lottery ticket is illegal. That was part of one of the very long discussions here on LP. Someone pointed out that PayPal stopped accepting payments from someone if that payment was for gambling (including buying of lottery tickets). I don't know if that is true or not, but it makes sense. Ohioan have bought tickets for the Canadian lottery through the mail and that is illegal, that's is a federal law. A couple featured on Columbus 10TV news claimed to have done that and won a jackpot but I never heard if the state or federal government ever filed charges or if they changed their story to traveling to Canada to buy the tickets. I'm sure they paid state and federal taxes regardless.

Didn't I just say that Power Ball, etc. are legal? What is the law in Ohio? Maybe Ohio is one of the few states that allow out of state purchases. My information comes from the law in California and very long discussions here on LotteryPost. If the law allows me to send money to my sister, then I certainly will for such a big jackpot.

Ohioans have bought and claimed PowerBall tickets in Indiana for years now. One of PowerBall biggest winner was a group from Columbus Ohio that bought their tickets in Indiana. When Ohio had the best games in the area people from all the surrounding states bought Ohio lottery tickets , won and appeared on its live lottery show all the time. Due to tonight's winning numbers the parameter for my RNG no match 3 less than 30 drawings back will be changed to no match 3 less than 25 drawings back The rest of the parameters will be rechecked to make sure they didn't eliminate a match 5 or allowed too many losing combinations.

Except for the NY Lotto, they are not buying tickets for a STATE lottery. Powerball, MegaMillions, etc. are not state lotteries. This subject has been beat to death here on LP, but I will say a little about it again. Lotteries are ILLEGAL in the Unites States of America. Having said that, each state must pass their own laws regarding having a lottery in their state. Wow...did you ever get that all messed up!! It is certainly legal for someone to play a lottery in the state where they live. It is NOT legal for me to send someone money to buy a ticket for me. I usually send them via email more numbers than I posted here. But those were the ones we played tonight. My sister is the one that plays for me in Ohio and she can't afford the 182 tickets I normally send out via email. But I think I will tell her to keep the $1.90

I don't understand the concept of someone paying you 10% of their winnings to make it legal for them to play the numbers you posted in a public forum, they must like you. I removed my email address from my profile because I kept getting mail from folks who wanted me to send them money so they could play their own numbers. Actually, I have some people that play my Pick 5 numbers in different states and when they are going to play my numbers, they tell me and pay me 10% of their winnings. That makes it legal since they are playing, not me, and I never send them any money to play for me. No big wins, yet, but maybe tonight

I've reviewed my system and it used parameters based on the fact that 58% of past winning combinations had 5 numbers from the previous 17 drawings and last night that was not the case as it was the night before when it did so well. The logic programmed into the system have been tested and looked good on paper but the test of any system is how it works in reality. Now is not the time to have second thoughts so it a go again tonight.
