Rest in peace, Gene. I remember how much I liked his songs. He was a fellow New Englander, from CT. I was very young, but I liked Mecca and 24 Hours from Tulsa. Now that I'm writing this, the song Only Love Can Break The Heart is in my head. 65 is sort of young to just go to sleep on your back and not wake up, so maybe it was a heart attack. AMERICAN singing legend Gene Pitney performed one of the greatest shows of his career just hours before he was found dead in a Cardiff hotel room yesterday.

Tour manager James Kelly said the chart-topping crooner was in high spirits after receiving a standing ovation at the city's St David's Hall following Tuesday night's sell-out concert.
