Daily we pray for all our troops stationed everywhere all over the world and their families. We write and send care packages to the men and women who are giving their all for the rest of us. I offer you my sentiments and my prayers. My son was an Army Lieutenant and there wasn't a day that went by that I did not have an upset stomach and my "daily" talks with God. It is one of the most awful things in life to have a child you cannot protect. We are trained in our mind to protect them no matter how old they are. Last night I fell asleep praying for Dezmond and all other service members. This morning I awakened with Dezmond heavy upon my heart. Oh, I miss him so. I set on the edge of the bed and I wept for him and all the other service members. Then I got down to the business of prayer!

I have a daughter in the U.S. Air Force and not in harms way at this time. However, she just returned from Iraq about two months ago and I too was on edge the entire 1-1/2 years she was there, but God watched over and protected her, and brought her home safe. If you believe, God will prevail and I believe he will prevail with your son and bring him home safe.

I know exactly what you are feeling right now. My husband is currently in Iraq serving a 6 month tour. I stay up all night thinking about him. In those times when I am down, I just drop to my knees and start praying. We are not in control of our lives, God is. I have three sons no daughters and I constantly pray for them although they are not at war but at nights when they go out I get on my knees and plead the blood over them because Our LOrd and Saviour said when He see the blood He will pass over you. I almost went to war at least at 3 different times when I was in the U.S. Army.

I was in the Army for very many years, no I didn't retired from it.

Be as selfish as you want Ducks, you have every right to be. If put in your shoes, I would go before I would let my kids go. Fortunately, they are too young now, but tomorrow is closer than I care for it to be.

As most of you know, my son is still in Iraq. I just left the chat room with Dezmond. That has been the best thing for me, since he has been away.

He informed me today that his unit was moving to a place called *****, on *****. There, he and the entire unit will be driving fuel trucks.
