New cars, unless they are expensive luxury vehicles, don&#x27;t have a lot of markup in them from invoice to sticker. On the other hand, used car salespeople make much more money on a deal.  If you know cars and a trustworthy mechanic, it&#x27;s usually best to buy a used car from a private party unless you need special financing.<br /><br />One other comment. 			<description><![CDATA[<p>Justx,<br /><br />One of my favorite cars ever was an &#x27;86 Olds Cutlass.   Had to get rid of it to buy a truck for my job.  There were many tears shed upon the trade-in and they weren&#x27;t all due to the dealership&#x27;s invasive cavity  search .<br /><br />But that&#x27;s the nice thing about getting older.
