When you step back and look at it, you have to conclude that there are a lot of folks involved in conducting a lottery drawing.

You have auditors, recorders, security and others. I don't know the total number, but, I believe they are trying to do the best job they can.

Now, if the lottery director or operator, or whomever, decides to put in a fix, to increase the jackpot, someone on that drawing team is going to yell 'foul' and call the local news media.

This is what I think I know -- Since all picks are recorded on the Lottery Machines owned by your friendly Lottery and since the numbers are recorded at Headquarters Lottery, I think it would be possible to know what payout would be closest to what your profit expectations are.

I voted yes only because the technology exists to do so, and the question asks are they capable of doing that - but it is highly doubtful any lottery would ever actually do so. They'd be bringing down a stigma on themselves and every other lottery out there.

That's an excellent idea, Jim. People can question the way any operation runs, but until they do the actual research, nothing will ever be learned. Personally, I prefer to say in the dark. I think I'm doomed to playing my numbers until I die.

thank's Jim (i might check into the TV station gig.) for your input i am constantly prying info out of any lottery personnel i come in contact with. And i can almost get them to divulge their little secrets about lottery going on's as long as I'm not to pushy. I brought up a conversation about them possibly manipulating the ball drawings--- ie: what i just posted in my last reply and the person said if they were doing that, that she didn't know about it. here's why i said what i did one day a while back we had an evening drawing where the announcer was and usually is the weather man/woman on our local TV station that airs the drawing. Sometime it's an lottery official that gives the info. on rare occasions.

And this is where it can get weird how do we know were seeing the real drawing or a pre determined drawing like when the are testing the balls and machines a pre draw could easily be recorded to suite them and when they go on air put the drawing of their choice as live....
