I was not handling the 5 conversions correctly.

It looks like if one can decide on a single digit for the next draw you can reduce the number of combinations to play. Am I correct in this?

Floridian

Mr. R

I have downloaded the puzzle, I have placed the last draw as you described, one number in middle of box 1 reading across and down, second number in middle of box 5 and last number in middle of box 9. I have found where a vertical win was found but after playing all the numbers at least twice. You indicated that the process was or seemed to hit every other time. I have checked horizontal, vertical, diagonal and don't seem to have much luck.

That is correct Calabs, you will never have a double in the horizontal or vertical directions. You can see doubles in the diagonal direction where the diagonal direction crosses the boundary between 3x3 cells into an adjacent 3x3 cell. If your double trigger indicates doubles you may want to play only doubles. Right again Calabs, when you have 551 and you mirror the 5s for 001 you may also want to mirror only one 5 for 501 or 051.

Thanks Raven, nice trick to find doubles in the Maze! But I guess what I'm asking is, let's say you want to predict that the next draw will be 501. You will never have a 551 or 001 in the horizontal. Do you look for the mirrors diagonal for those picks as well? So in your example of 557 in the diagonal, would you look for a number like 551, and use the mirror of one of the 5's to give you 501
