I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of James Brown.

Those summer cookouts, you knew when you entered the driveway of someone's home you heard the music of James Brown, that the party, the love, warmth, the food was going to be at it's optimum best.

I have most of his live recordings on the 12 inch vinyls the standard 45 rpms.

May God rest his soul.

I'm with you. The first record I bought was Mother Popcorn, and I was only 6 yrs old. I'll never forget barely able to see over the counter and begged my father to get it for me! And he did! I loved James Brown. His music and memories will live on forever! He was soul music and definitely the Hardest Working Man In Show Business! Rest in peace James,

James Brown was not only The GodFather of Soul....to me he was The GodFather to all thoes who had soul he was a true down to earth person. I can't wait to see the tributes to him it should be huge and very spectacular. His music affected my life in so many ways I can't even begin to count. I will solely miss James Brown. I grew up in New Orleans. And about this time, everyone use to wait with anticipation for James Brown's New release to come out at the beginning of each new year. He never disappointed his fans. His music was ahead of his time and can still blend in with today's music as witnessed by the many rappers that has sampled his music. I saw James Brown in concert several times. He really knew how to put on a good show. I always loved to see him do the Camel Walk. Cold Sweat was the first record I ever bought in my life; it was on a 45RPM disk. I still have an extensive collection of his music on LPs. Hearing his music always takes me back.
