anyone care to suggest how to nail down a win?

Cross your fingers. Getting all 5 numbers half the time is all well and good, but it doesn't mean you're actually very close. If you could always be positive which 30 numbers the 5 winning numbers would come from you'd be playing a 5 of 30 game, so there would still be 142,506 possible combinations. Even with only 25 numbers there are over 50,000 combinations. Aside from the cost, it's wildly impractical to fill out the cards and buy that many t... [ More ]

Yes -- you are correct it is gambling and you should put-up or shut-up as you say.........

It is so tempting just to say....heck -- I am matching these numbers regularly, let's go for broke and wheel

these numbers. But honestly, I have not the guts to shell out the thousands it would cost to do so.

Call me a wimp, but I would rather try with a small budget and get lucky rather than spend thousands and be unlucky.

Thanks for you suggestions....anyone else

I played 34 different numbers with 15 different bonus numbers using 65 lines and matched a 4+0 for $150. The number I missed was on the winning ticket twice in two other lines so with a little more luck I could have won $250K.

After that I said to myself, I would be happy to be that lucky regardless of the jackpot size, but I can't convince myself to spend t... [ More ]

If you can, and I know you want to stay on budget, but try and squeeze out an extra 5 #'s and shuffle around those numbers or go up or down by one to get a better chance at hitting. Bottom line is, you need more tickets to have a better chance at winning. I usually play 20 dollars as my max betting per day unless the jackopt is very high or I feel very lucky on a particular day with my number picks.

Good luck!

Omniscient

If you're getting all 5 winning numbers on a single ticket, then you're doing as good as can be expected without spending more money. You can try mixing your numbers a little differently but it's now mostly up to luck.

*You might want to run a test and pick more lines, but not actually play them to see what might have happened had you spent more money.
