I don't think I would have done that. We're talking about money. If I were to conduct an experiment by walking around with a $20 bill and asking people if they lost $20, at least half of them would probably lie and say yes. If I were to then change from a $20 bill to a $100 bill and ask people if they lost $100, even more people would say it was theirs. When it comes to me, if there's no ID, then I'm going to keep it.

When I was at one of my lowest financially (no job, no income) trying to raise two sons as a single parent ,I had taken a bus to our local state office to apply for assistance. There's a retirement community about 20 miles from where I live in Bonita Springs called Shell Pointe, and in other sections there is general housing, apartments and the such.

About 9 or so years ago, 3 or 4 huge black garbage bags were found just inside the entrance by the wayside of the road. I forget, but it was either a man, or the cleaning crew who found the bags and looked inside. What they found was a large amount of cash in them. I think it was about 5 million. I'd first try to determine who may have dropped it, if there is no way to do that I'd put it aside for emergencies, otherwise I'd return it to the person. I don't like QuickPicks anyway.

My husband was cleaning around the lot yesterday. He mowed the ditches.. picked up trash. When he was getting ready to leave, he noticed that the wind had blown some trash from across the street to the sides of the dishes. He went to pick it up and found a twenty.

Across the street is a school parking lot, of course no one was parked there since it was Saturday.

He considered himself lucky.

well upon picking it up, i would hang around for about ten mins to see if anyone came back looking for it, ,,, i mean some people really have it worst than others,,, and it might mean a lot to them,, if no one came back to collect then i would do what i want with it be it playing numbers,,buying food,gas etc,etc,etc,, or giving it to someone in worse shape than me,,,,

i think buddy was saying that his dad was telling him that he has always been lucky at finding money since the age of 8 but he was not 8 when he found money and smoked the cigarette or used the visa. i think' buddy just worded it wrong but his dad was telling him that buddy has been lucky at finding lost money since buddy was young child. that is how i read it but i could be wrong...

Money lying on the ground is the same as an unsigned lottery ticket...it's a bearers instrument. Since I didn't see anyone drop it and there isn't any ID lying next to it, I would consider that MY found money. So God bless those who said they would give all of it to charity (I would tithe 10% only) or to some homeless dude/family, but I would as I said tithe a portion and take the remainder and buy some lottery tickets over the course of the week. I have, on several occasions seen people drop money and not realize it. If close enough, I call out to them or I grab it before someone else can and chase them down. Once watch a guy deposit his (assumed) paycheck and take a few dollars out of the Teller. Then as he turned to get in his truck, every bill fell to the ground. Years ago when I lived in New York, I was coming home from work and felt kind of hungry. I never eat after work, but have a few beers to calm my nerves after a long day at work.
