That would mean that if I had just spent a few more dollars, I could have won over $117,000 instead of nothing. I would rather believe what LckyLary wrote, so I don't beat myself up too much since I stopped and thought maybe I should buy a few more. Knowing that I hardly ever go into that store and for no reason decided to stop there, then suddenly that very day someone wins Fantasy 5 at that retailer shouldn't upset me, because that's the luck of the draw. I'm sure 100 other people bought ti... [ More ]

Again, I don't know if it's the case here in Florida.

I'm thinking like this:

Someone comes in and purchases 20 Qps. Let'say that the terminal screen holds 20 qps in the list. Someone just bought that list. So now it generates 20 more, so when the next person comes in to buy 5 10 or 17, whatever, it's already there to be printed out.

I don't know for sure, but I'm only going by what I experienced in Cali. I don't like it either, but again, an rng is an rng, whether it's been sitting th... [ More ]

This doesn't make sense to me, Pac. How could the terminal have generated numbers before buying the tickets? I thought that at the moment I said I want 5 quickpicks some kind of RNG would use the machine's algorithm to produce combinations based on time, previous picks, etc. I've read that stores often run tickets ahead of time for PB and MM when it's very busy, but I didn't think they could actually look at the screen and select the numbers. It concerns me that someone working in a stor... [ More ]

I don't know how the machines work in Florida, but when I lived in California, a friend was working behind a counter at a liquor store. He asked me to come behind the counter one day, and asked me to look at the list of p-3 numbers that were generated by the machine.

He asked me if I liked any of the numbers on the list, on the screen. I told him that I didn't like any of them, and then I asked him to hit the generator for a better list. He said that he couldn't. That list had to be used up... [ More ]

In many of his books the late Kurt Vonnegut used to talk about something happening and nothing at all could have been done to change it because that moment in time was structured that way...

I think LckyLary is exactly right, you wouldn't get his two. It's not like the numbers are being dealt from a deck of cards or even a six deck shoe or something, or that the QP is dealing with a small group of combinations of numbers.

Those neurons are really hot tonite, I see!

The nature of the QuickPick terminal is probably a buzzing quartz crystal that sends a stream of numbers at an unimaginable rate. The very exact timing of the clerk hitting the Enter key on the terminal determines the exact instant the stream is sampled. Even the slightest variation will give a totally different set of numbers. You could have won if you took an extra few seconds to hold the door for someone OR even if you didn't hold the door but in... [ More ]
