i drive back down when my future megamillions ticket runs out so ill be back down there sometime next week to buy another future megamillions and some future fantasy 5 tickets. ill be happy to make that long drive now that tennessee has gone RNG

that can be rigged to put out the

numbers with the fewest amount

of bets. on the other hand watching

the balls spit out your first two (P3)

numbers and sitting on the edge

of your chair waiting for the third

i remember when that happened it was my senior year of high school so it was fall 1995 or spring 1996 and i was happy someone from nashville won because it gave me hope i would win one day when i was old enough to start playing. that guy who won worked for the VA hospital i think and he went into hiding so he didnt want alot of press and people knowing where he moved to or asking him for money. i had a relative who played back then but never won any real money.

I read with interest the e-mail response from the Tennessee Lottery. I am wondering why they insist on calling the fake drawings exciting .

Are they through trying to insult my intelligence (and that of every resident of Tennessee)?

Anyone with half a brain knows that watching a drawing that really takes place in the real world, with colored balls bouncing around and being selected, is what is exciting. People actually tune in for it.

I remember before TN had a lottery and some guy near Nashville, I think it was Gallatin won the Powerball for around 89 mil. He had a girl from work come up to Oak Grove, KY and buy tickets. I remember it because the drawing before he won I hit 4 numbers and the powerball. My wife was upset because the number I missed was 40 and I had 04. I wish I could hit like that now since they have the power play and the pay out on it has gone up from 5,000 to 10,000.

i live in nashville so franklin kentucky is about 35 minutes away from me and wildwood georgia is over an hour away from me so most players here can boycott and not play or they can get in a lottery pool and one person goes to buy all the tickets in kentucky or georgia.

It's a shame that most players in TN didn't even know that they had changed the way the numbers were drawn. The only thing they knew was that the draw time had changed. I wished they posted it on the news and in newspapers. I really want this to fail. I feel sorry for those who live in Nashville and places where you can't play another states lottery. I'm glad I live about 4 miles from Kentucky. I said before that the only way I'de play TN was online now, but I can't even see myself doing that.... [ More ]

I don't have the time to do an indepth search, but computer drawings have been around for a long time. It's a steam roller that can't be stopped, IMHO.

Everytime a state a switches, numerous players object - to no avail.

Unfortunately, not one computer RNG state has said - oops!, we made a mistake and are going back to the balls.

The reality is that if we like to play the lottery for entertainment, we have to accept that the states are running a monopoly and can do anything they please... [ More ]

I am not going to say that I won't play TN's P3 or P4 because of the RNG. I personally feel that in the long run, it won't matter. Stats are stats and in the end, the stats will bear out regardless of how they draw. Maybe we will finally get to see those double 1's that have been out for over 355 draws under the current system. Personally, I look forward to it. It will just be another challenge to overcome.

Yeah, that why I told them. The cashiers are my friends and I told them about the boycott and they almost flipped when I told them why I was boycotting. Again, I don't want to say the store name or locations because I don't want them to get in trouble. However, people will see their evilness.

Perhaps the state lottery is keeping track of the pick 3 and 4 payouts.

There could be a few people thru out the state that are buying winning numbers in multiples at one or more stores. Those 20 and 50 dollar players.

There has been mentioned on the forums about Tenn big winners.

The state could afford to loose 50 thou a day in sales to offset these winners who have figured out the ball drawings.

I was at a busy retailer today and told the clerks what they were doing. They are actually telling their customers about it and most aren't happy. (Went back after a few hours). However, I'm not going to say where it is because the TN lottery wouldn't be happy with this retailer. I'm doing all I can and I hope that the lottery crashes and burns

I'm sorry for Tennessee folks who now have to put up with RNG drawings, like they do in Indiana.

I know when Tennessee announced they were getting a state lottery, some Kentucky officials were concerned because a good number of TN folks would travel here to buy lottery tickets. (IIRC I think the KY Lottery even had billboards in Nashville giving the jackpot amounts.)

They would have a better chance of selling their exciting idea to the players if they showed the actual drawing possibly using colorful animated drawings'. But it looks like their exciting plan is to have the computer pick the numbers behind closed doors and then let the TV stations show the numbers using whatever methods their marketing department believes will draw viewers.

The excitement of the drawings I guess is going to be those colorful animated drawings which don't mean squat. Garbage in = garbage out.

The next time I go to Tennessee, which to date has been once in my life, I'll stick with scratch-offs, IF ANYTHING.

Wow, it almost sounds like the TN Lottery Commission will have medical personal on hand incase one of its members gets too excited watching the computer draw the numbers and has the big one.

For the players the excitement will be the same as logging onto Lottery Post 15 minutes after the draw or reading the results in the

the part of the letter that talks about drawing being videotaped is irrelevant because who cares if they videotape a computer spitting out numbers the computer can be corrupted when the camera is not on.

As states add more daily games they won't have enough time to show all the drawings in a minute or thirty second show. As they get away from showing the drawings they won't have a reason to do live drawings with balls and will switch to computerized drawings.

Well, I think this says it all. I have some relatives in Tennessee. So there's no confusion, they are intelligent people. I mentioned it in passing to one of them on the phone this morning when they called me, and the response was that it'll be more honest now.

Computerized drawings are what they are going after. The diehards quite frankly really don't care. They'll play whatever they can. Try going to a computerized state and telling the people that are buying a dozen numbers at once about the computerized drawings and they'll tell you, well, usually something not so nice.
