I filtered the digit 8 and saved almost nothing in the way of ticket cost. It did hit straight as one of the Due short sums .... sum 14 and hit as 518 sunday.

Well ....if we gave this 6 draws to break even then we can at least track it for that long and see what happens. So far .... 3 draws and 2 Straight wins. After being cramped up for that long .....we would think that missing 5 short sums ...or 500 numbers is going to get up and walk around a little while yes? We can't expect too many more double hits thats for sure. I would concentrate on the Single Straights from now on... filter those down with current info.

If I were to go high numbers in position one the 5 6 7 8 9 I could set my filter to run the bias I wanted.

Tntea .... you missed the original idea in the beginning of the post. We started by using a 500 number filter..... or a 50/50 filter. The idea was to first start off with 1000 and work our way down as far as we dared......and still have a strong shot at a Straight win. We began by filtering all Ssums except for the long missing ..... 0,,,2,,,9,,,3,,,and 4.

So.... we didn't need or have to even consider the rest of the Ssums . Get it

Well everyone probably has their own definition of serious gambler, and I'm sure quite a few who consider themself serious gamblers are not.

However, I know people who fly to Vegas and go on gambling cruises who think I'm out of my mind for buying lottery tickets. One man I know does that and more, like betting on horses, but he said he'd never waste his money on the lottery. i profited by betting 10 bucks a day on 486 when tennessee first started,a few months later i won 5 grand from that bet.then i started betting 4 bucks a number and won 2,000 dollars a couple times.people couldn't believe it in the early days of the tennessee lottery i had seven or eight grand in my wallet at any given time just playing pick 3 and pick 4.those were the good old days before two draws a day and RNG screwed me up.

Here's a simplistic example:

Ca Eve has not had a hit from these 5 Short Sums ....0,2,9,,,and 3,,4 in 13 draws.

I say 13 draws because in the order of skips .... the Ssum 0 is out 32 draws...followed by 27,25,14,,,and finally Ssum 4 on the end which is out 13 draws. So all of the 5 Ssums are out a minimum of 13 draws at the very least.

5 Ssums all out 13 draws of course means that CA eve has not had a hit form the other Half of the chart or ....the other 500 num... [ More ]

I'm with you, I understand exactly what you are saying. Yesterday , I use Expert Lotto for Cash 3. The Segment Sums 13,17,22,23 were all overdue. I played 13 numbers, some from each Sum, to capture the 864 ,str8. There is no way I could/would have picked that combo from the list to play 3 or 4 numbers. The whole list was much the same in skips.

Since 3of5 and 4of5 are usually unsigned and paid by local retailers,I wouldn't expect there to be any data compiled to support your theory that winning is a matter of skill. I was thinking more along the line of a strategy or theory which could be tested in simulations using a list of previous winners from various lotteries.

So far no one has produced a theory or strategy that works even in a simulation where money is not a limit.

Yes I think it is a matter of skill to win frequently in any lottery game.

Probably no figures out there. If we were able to draw stats from the lotteries on prizes wether they were pick your own or quick picks would be of great help.

Maybe if the stats also shown where the pick your own were from could locate a systems player on those consistant 3 of 5 or 4 of 5 winners.

Are you trying to say playing and winning a lottery game, even a jackpot game is more a matter of skill than luck? If the states only had an edge of 1:2-1:5 of keeping your money, I might think that was possible, but the odds of breaking even are 1:10 or higher let alone making a profit. Unless you're lucky enough to win a jackpot, you lose if you play for any reasonable length of time.

I could be wrong but I have never seen any figures that prove other wise.

I done some research and exact order wheeling for the pick 4 which I posted today.

If I wanted to add more numbers to the list by adding the low evens in position 4 which are the 024 there would have been a winner there.

I chose only the high odds in position 4.

Playing for straight wins there are times that more than 50 numbers can return a profit zone.

I do not think hard core players depend on luck.

They rely on their skills at the game wether it be pick 3 or jackpot games.

I have seen some postings around here where pick 5 players do all right for themselves with 4 of 5 .

There has to be a balance between money spent and money won.

Most people spend little and so almost never win, so they make no profit.

Part of this is because they can't predict right.

Progression is a good tool to use, but best used with a good enough prediction technique, unless one really has a lot of money.

When using progression, with 45 straight numbers a day or so, online, one could play 19 days and still make a profit.

If after 19 days none of the straights has come in, it is time to raise the bet.

Using a progression however means: the longer the numbers stay away, the smaller the profit will be.

So what?

As long as there is a profit...

I'll go out on a limb here. I know that Win D has the right idea here and I've got a prediction to make. Small wagers on small numbers is like being nickeled and dimed to death. This I know from experience. When the money flowed freely I could make close to 1K per week playing many straight picks. I can't move weight like I used to, I suspect that many of us can't.

Thanks 4thquarterbabe. You understand what I'm saying .... If you want to win there is a level you have to play up to .....or otherwise you can't get any sympathy form real players or ( folks who know the odds).

How much should a player spend to make a profit and why? Is there any proof that the chance to make a profit is better when more combinations are played? I've watched as some of the top predictors post 50 lines every day for a pick3 game and have done no better than the players posting 10 lines when comparing percent of money won. Isn't fifty lines daily per game enough?

If making a profit depends on luck then no amount of lines can make a difference.

That part is right. Relative to what I said ...........people can not complain.

If you don't have the tools to play in the NFL ..... you can't complain when they don't draft you. LOL

Sure you can play touch in your back yard or something..... just don't complain about it like it makes good sense.

There's a universe of diference between $1- $3 a day or $10 - $30 a day.

Most don't play enough numbers to profit at Pick 3 !

Most of those who play PICK-3 don't play enough numbers to WIN on a regular basis.

So..... you really shouldn't play if you expect to profit playing only Boxes.

In general..... In general you have to play around 10 times the numbers to win Straight on a regular enough basis to have a shot at profit.
