That is interesting..

I do(did) better using the 221 system I listed in pick 5 in Tn.. however, since TN is %%X#$% I don't go there any more....

I am watching FL... GA... to name a few since chances of buying tickets are available.

Hey Justxploring,

Don't let the clerk get you down; he/she was most likely feeling some event that happen before you arrived, everybody has their own issues!!! When I get a feeling about buying a lotto ticket, I go buy them, whether I make a special trip or buy them on the way home. Who knows--everyone has a chance. I was never a big lotto player until my friend at work won! Now I make sure I play here in Texas every week, within reason of course

Was that really an old SNL skit? I could so see Gildna Radner portraying the clerk--if it wasn't, it should have been.

BTW--the clerks are usually instructed to not comment on their clients' purchases--even when you see a mother using a state card (replaces foodstamps) for her groceries and formula and then buying a 12 pack w/cash.

KY Floyd - I won't argue with you. It's true for some people but for me, taking an extra trip to the store means walking down the street and around the corner. Since it was already dark and we have no sidewalks, I drove to 7-11. Even Publix is so close I can leave during a commerical break and be back before the show starts. I used to walk to the store with a flashlight but people tell me not to take chances at night since we live in such a violent world.

tea in my system it makes no difference how many times a number was drawn ;

example use this and do by hand:

05-22-27-36-37 ; 0-09=(05).......10-19=..000--.. 20-29=(22 ;27)....30-39=(36+37)....

do this until you get 07 games 7x5=35 numbers drawn I use 08 since NY goes to 39 ;

then only use numbers which have not fallen and the last number which has not fallen since the start of your count which feel only once;

Look at what I said again:

If you walked to the store, making a second trip for the tickets was exercise. If you drove, it was a waste of gas and extra wear and tear on the car. Raising the cost of your tickets is never the smart choice.

After doing some shopping you went out again, specifically to buy the tickets that you had thought about buying when you were already at the store the first time. I don't know where you got the bit about spending a few dollars being meaningless, but... [ More ]

I have to CHIME IN ON THIS ONE......

I haven't had any more luck with the Lottery than I have had with the Social Security that is withdrawn from my pay check every week.....that I will probably never see again.......

the greastest error I think people make when playing a lotto /mega aka fantsy 5 type game is people always think its their lucky number that comes out or they hope it will be there lucky numbers and then they go into the ODDS theory ....I disagree ...its manipulation of the numbers ... example in lets say the last 2 draws ;

02-13-24-.35-31.....

next week 17-18-22-27-29 this wek it elimeted 01-09 and all

Thanks, Todd. I agree that people should just mind their own business. I don't see them warning all the people who buy cigarettes that they're not good for their health or that alcohol is the cause of most child abuse, domestic violence and automobile deaths. That's a good story, thanks for sharing it.

In my opinion clerks should not be offering their opinions at all -- on anything. The only thing they should be offering is to day good luck after you finish the order.

I have stopped going to a couple stores where they don't act professionally when I purchase tickets.

Would one Fantasy Five win really be enough to cover your next 30 years of working? Maybe you should put your efforts into a game with a prize that would solve all your problems as the odds are you will only win one jackpot in a life time. I stopped playing Fantasy Five because the prize won't make enough of a difference and Mega Money won't wheel well. BobP

Did I say I spent $2 on the same ticket? That wouldn't make sense playing a jackpot game. Where did you get that? I wrote that I bought 2 tickets for Fantasy 5 and 2 tickets for MegaMoney. I thought you always insist that buying an extra ticket cuts the odds in half!

So was my last minute I have as good a shot at winning as anyone else. Why not? a moment of hope and high spirited optimism, or was it an unrealistic dream of getting out of working the next 30 years that sparked a moment of temporary insanity?

And you did have the same chance as everyone else. You certainly faced the same odds as the person that won the 1.3 million bucks. It doesn't matter how many tickets they may have bought, it wouldn't reduce the odds against them very much if any.... [ More ]

That counts as optimism or hope, as long as you don't think anyone actually has a good chance. Thinking you have a good chance could be unrealistic optimism or it could be stupidity. Nothing wrong with hope - without hope there'd be very little lotto play going on.

I remember coming out of a lottery place in California one day near the Nevada border and an Asian girl made the observation that when people are coming out of a casino they usually look p. o'd because they probably lost- but when they come out of the lottery place with their tickets they have hope on their face (at least til the drawing... Tonight when I was in Publix, I slowly walked by the lottery terminal. There was nobody else at the counter and the customer service clerk asked if she could help me. I said I'll come back. I was thinking about buying a couple of Fantasy 5 tickets to which she replied I never buy them. I don't remember the rest.
