The odds are nearly the same. There are surprisingly (relatively) few of these types of combos, unless you're also willing to include 3 of a kind gaps e.g. 1,2,3,4,6 where the gaps are 1,1,1,2.

I was hoping some of you mathemeticians can help me on this one.

I'm trying to figure out the odds of Mega Millions if I omit the bad sequences. I mean numbers such as

1,2,3,4,5,

2,3,4,5,6,...... 18,19,20,21,22, 31,32,33,34,35.....

2,4,6,8,10

3,6,9,12,15

5,10,15,20,25

I know that there are chances that these number CAN happen but the odds are pretty slim. Is there some way I can figure this out in Excel?, I don't know maybe a formula to remove them or such? Im no... [ More ]
