Didn't do MM tonight, but came close with Pick4. I picked them myself and you know what? I always seem to be one or two numbers off. I must have water in my ear and its throwing off my number balance lol. If only I was JUST RIGHT I would of been 10,000 richer.

KY, increasing your chances of winning is simple if you find the right niche of probability. All I have to say is base your strategy of picks on elimination rather than what you think will hit.

As for Georgia winning...again..lol. It happens. I do get pissy when its won by repeat (somewhat close together) states. I've looked up Washington state jp winners since they were added mid/late 2002. We had our first winner in 2003 within months of being added , then not again until believe mid/late 2006. Why is it that when someone comes out and says how he plays, almost everytime the threads get flooded with negativity? I took what Jimhowlett said for face value, because he hasn't showed me or anyone for that matter, that he's a blow hard. Besides I basically do the same thing every week. I spend 12 to 15$ every draw with my picks also. I agree that every drawing is a drawing unto itself and has no bearing on the drawing before or after it. But probability does not work that way.

Consider this:

You flip a coin (and providing there are no crazy variables like variable air pressure, uneven weight to the coin, etc...in other words, all factors being equal) four times. Each time it is tails. I don't see it that way.... The game is the game and each game is of it's self. Each game/draw is it's own! It doesn't carry over! OK you made 150 on a drawing.... that's just it you made the money on that one drawing! Yes you now have a bank roll to keep playing, but it's still a whole another game/drawing.. each time the numbers are to be drawn..... Not at all. In fact, that post was in answer to Guesser, who for some reason unknown to me, comes across as condescending and nigh-omnescient. He also brought up research without posting the facts.

As for Maddogs' MM challenge, I already won once and hit 2+0 (almost made it) twice I believe (I've only played a few times so far (missed last week's).

I don't think I need to switch to tennis. My expectations are set into force by the fact that I break even playing the lottery. My numbers, (if you want to call them charted, go ahead, it's a great deal more complicated than that) are picked for a reason, and as a result my picks pay for themselves. I defy you to match that. If you can, great. Other than that, thanks for the suggestion, but I'll keep playing.

You should consider another game before you go broke. Tennis maybe ?

What is 'unorthodox' to YOU is perfectly within reason to someone else: it comes back to charting, and you will see the 'unorthodox' combos that hit DO hit from time-to-time, and sometimes you must plan for it, a few of your games, anyway.

The only two times I came close to being bummed out was when I had all six winning numbers on a $5 ticket and the best I could do was match 3+1 and 2+0 for $150 and match 2+1 and 3+0 for $17 but I was happy to just win anything at all.

I was using a system that uses a pool of 25 numbers for the core combinations and a pool of 10 numbers for the bonus numbers. The odds of all six winning numbers being in those pools are about 1:600 and I did it twice in one year. I always thought if I ever go... [ More ]

Just goes to show you how difficult it is to hit that thing, especially since the volume of dollars generated in New York is in great disproportion to the number of NY winning tickets. Obviously the quick pick generators are more effective in the smaller states.

I get a bit bummed out too though I had a feeling, even before I saw the numbers that it would be won. I don't think Georgia wins all that frequently, there was the 270M winner back in February and now this last one, but that was over six months apart. Nothing like the craziness of Ohio having three jackpot winners in a row back in early 2006 where two of those three winners were of jackpots in the 260-270 range while the other was a base JP, all three were claimed as part of a Trust interesting... When MegaMillions (the only game I play) gets up to the 9-digit range then someone wins it. Using what I view an unorthodox drawing combination too.

It's back to the $12 million base but still, I alway get bummed when someone wins the jackpot. It's like you wait and wait and as long as nobody else wins it, it's ok for me to lose.

Also, has someone noticed the annoying tendency for the JPs to be picked in Georgia? Far disproportionate to their population. And the drawing is in Georgia...... [ More ]
