Well, they have come up with some better 1 dollar scratchers with better prizes and slightly better odds.

The newest one has a 3000 dollar top prize. Tommorow, a new one is going to be issued that offers a 5000 top prize! While I try to avoid scratchers, at least the one dollar ones are cheap and fun. Plus, who knows

The population argument has been hashed and rehashed and the bottum line is that this area of the state has as much population as the biggest three Detroit suburbs but we dont win up here. If you look at wins per 100,000 population you will see how unbalanced the winners actually are. Southwest Michigan may have half of the states population but they have 85% to 90% of the winners.

Okay, a few more, some of these are new.

For $1

-Get 50: (new) Same prize amounts as quick 50, but these ones are not as common as the other and have a few more 50 dollar prizes. Also, instead of getting 3 like prize amounts, you have to match one prize amount with 4 others (of course if you see a 50, you get that automatically). I like it better, but haven't won anything good off them (then again, I only bought 1)

-Uno Dos Scratch: Probably the best 1 dollar scratcher, though a few mon... [ More ]

I'm probably missing it, but all I see on the press releases are winners from the metro detroit area, which isn't surprising when you consider that it's the most populated area in Michigan.

Do you read the news on the Official MSL website? Did you notice that over the last couple of months that Coldwater has had way more top prize winning scratch tickets than a town that size should probably have??

It is sort of like after someone from the Grand Rapids area got appointed to the state lottery commish's seat that shortly after it started raining winners in the Grand Rapids area (Party World in Commstock Park for one example

I know someone in this area that just got 55 $1 scratchers for his birthday and he scratched all of them off and did NOT get Anything at all! Not even one with a dollar back. All 55 lost!

I told this story to a clerk and the clerk told me that an 83 year old woman recently came in with $100 in scratchers on her birthday and she only got $13 from $100 of tickets.

I don't know where you buy tickets but you should try buying them in Coldwater or Metro Detroit. I like that there are so many 50 dollar prizes, but I have yet to win them and I must have bought about thirty of them.
