I recently moved to Kentucky from Ohio and where I lived was close enough to PA and WVA that I could play those lottery games too. Each state has its share of player friendly games along with some stinkers. If I designed a state lottery, for online games I would use Kentucky's Pick-3 format with the $600 to $1 payoffs, eliminate the Pick-4 games and use PA's Quinto, use Ohio's Rolling Cash 5, WVA's Cash 25, and maybe throw in Ohio's Ten-O. It's interesting to see what the Cash 5 payouts used to be a few years ago. I think the game has gotten stale, and the payouts suck because not as many people play it.

If I could change one thing about the TX lottery I would have the Cash 5 jackpot roll........as it is now, if nobody matches 5/5 the state pockets most of the money...although they do roll some into the 4/5 and 3/5 payouts.....pari-mutel payout.

Ohio has all the standard games that most states have,$1-$20 scratch-offs, pick3/4 (mid-day and evening), pick5 (5/39 daily), pick6 (6/49 three times weekly), Keno (twice daily) and a multi-state game, MegaMillions.

The only thing I might change is the payouts of our Classic Lotto to a more generous amount similar to Michigan's Classic Lotto47 (6/47) which pays $5 for a match3 (Ohio $2), $100 for a match4 (Ohio $75) and $2500 for a match5 (Ohio $1500).

Keno style games pay out a percentage of the take in amount. The game is just like the one arm bandits almost.

Since the games are in short intervals 3 to 5 minutes they might take in 500 bucks for one game and pay out 350 bucks.

If you win playing keno or racetrax you got lucky.

In Michigan, I would like to see it be made public to all taxpayers....lol (taxpayers...that's a great line) I would like it be made public, why the Michigan Lottery has a 21min. window from the time the bet slip terminal closes out for the current evening draws at 7:08pm to the time the current game drawings take place at 7:29pm.

Let it be known about the machine test draws.

Maryland lottery also run an animated horse race and Keno games which are computer generated. The computers that generate the games are very, very tight. If you sit and play the games daily, and for hours on end, you will notice that the the computers are programed to steer the winning numbers or horses away from the ones that you actually pick.

Oh yes, you can win. I have had a few big wins, but doing trail picks on the games over a half of this year, has lead me to this conclusion. TRY IT

This is a very good topic LOTTOMIKE.

In Tx I'm pretty happy with what we have. They show the pre test results, even though I don't really care one way or the other about the pre tests. The web site is very good, tons of info. I really like the Texas 2 Step game.

The only thing I can think of is I don't like the Cash 5 game. The odds are 435,897 to 1 to win about 25K, sometimes even less and it's pari mutuel. I would replace it with a Quinto game like PA has. Better payoff with better odds.... [ More ]

I would suggest that the state make lottery winnings tax-exempt.

I would also suggest they have 2nd chance drawings/raffles for the losers. Gift-cards, gas cards, or something of consolation for a losing ticket.

I'd have the Illinois Little Lotto go back to a 5/30 game instead of the 5/39 that it is now, and the Lotto to go back to 6/49 instead of 6/52.

Looser scratchers would be nice, and regardless of the game some winners from outside of Chicago would be refreshing!

From what I've read about Massachusetts, I'd like to see all states use the Mass. Pick 3 and Pick 4 payout srtuctires.

Since I live in CA I would change the lottery to have it outsourced and privately

run instead by the state; or hire a better PR company to advertise it; re-vamp all of the games every 3 months or so to generate more winners; if there were more winners for each of the games; you will have more players.

No i haven't and if i had anything to do about it there wouldn't be a sports scratch off for any sport here unless the proceeds went to the children or elderly.

Here the mega millions benefits the stadium authority we've been paying for the two stadiums now for a long time with taxes and proceeds from mega millions. In Maryland i would like to see a match 5 game similar to lil lotto with daily increases in the pot if it's not won. Our bonus match 5 is a 50 grand top prize period.

I would also like to see the day that lottery winnings are TAX FREE.

Our state needs some scratch offs to benefit health care.

You definitely have a higher standard than I.....lol

Even if it's equivalent into the future is worth only 1/5 of it's value, it would still be a grand a week in today's standards. (conservative estimate)

I would add a set-for-life lottery game for California. Smaller jackpot, but higher chance to win. I heard that doorman guy in NY won a such game. Well, $5,000 per week will become pretty meaningless after 15 years, but it sounds pretty good for people who can settle for a relatively smaller prize.

I'd like the officials to keep the same ball containing tubes in the same position for every draw. And only change the tubes when they break down.

I'd like them to NOT do any pre-tests before the drawing.

I'd totally revamp Oregon Lottery! Yes definitely go back to ball drawings and have the jackpots increase faster- now they only go up $200,000 per unwon drawing ... takes a really long time for the jackpot to get high enough to be worth playing.
