Just because you read something on the net doesn't make it true the lottery is not a tax on the people, the people are not required to buy lottery tickets, and you cant pay your taxes with losing lottery tickets.

You only get taxed if you win more than 600 dollars.

Any games played here in the USA other than the lottery and are legally sanctioned where the prize is grater than 600 dollars is taxable in most states.

If the lottery were a voluntary tax then we should be able to deduct any... [ More ]

i wasnt referring to a lotto game i was referring to a game other than the lottery....Games that are not lotteries are also called: GAMES....i didnt meant to say: 50% tax i meant to say: 50% of every dollar that goes to the state lottery...

and i wasnt that wrong because lottery is a volunteered tax...i ve seen many articles on the net saying that is a volunteer tax...

The lottery usually changes games because of poor sales not because people are winning.

The lottery doesn't tax you the state does.

Lotteries make most of their cash selling scratch offs it's their biggest daily income.

You are right and i forgot to mentioned it...Whenever this new game in the future beats the lottery they will continue to make money from the 50% that they tax but the jackpots might be smaller because it will lose players....However if these new games arise that is appealing to a new wave of people, is possible the state will take it for them and supervise the game, because the state is the only one in charge of supervising betting games of large magnitude so is probably going to belong to the

Hi pumpi. This is all good food for thought, but there is this one variable that won't let it happen: The current game set-up(s) work flawlessly in that the states make tons of money already based on the natural odds. With this in mind, it kinda goes back to the don't fix what ain't broken menatality...you know.
