It wouldn't do much good to pin the code used by the clerks to check the tickets cause as soon as that code is entered in a terminal, the ticket is invalidated as it then becomes the store's responsibility to pay out the prize. They would be better off pinning the two dimensional barcode which can be scanned at the selfscan station without invalidating the ticket but of course that involves removing much more of the latex rather then just scratching a line to guess what the numbers are. To clarify Pinning, also known as micro pinning, pre-checking, micro scratching, etc, is when the latex is removed from the front of the Scratcher or the play area, exposing the (3) digit code. Clerks and retailers need this code in order to check the Scratcher to see if its a winner. If the Scratcher is a winner, they obviously cash it for themselves and sell the losers back to the public. Be sure to closely examine your Scratchers when you buy them. You should look for any pinned areas. If its pinned, it is likely the Scratcher is a loser. The area pinned may not be obvious unless you look very closely. Make sure the clerk or owner pulls Scratchers from the dispenser and not some side drawer or pile. Make sure the Scratchers are in sequence if buying the same game. If you leave the store and don't notice the pinning until later, preserve the Scratcher as evidence. Report any such... [ More ]
