How do you tell the difference? And how do you know they are millionaires? In my small town there are several of them around and I met a couple of them, one I worked with and the other I bought a hamburger from and didn't know they were millionaires until someone told me.

I think it depends on the person's upbringing and whether they have self control or not.

A person could be a self made millionaire and realize that they had to work to get where they are. Their kids, on the other hand, could be spoiled rotten because they live the entitled life. If the self made millionaire had self control and didn't spoil the kids, you might not see this happen.

on a serious note, I never judge anyone on the amount of money they have nor the lack of money. you can be broke as hell and still be snooty, and vice versa, take each person as they are and forget any $ signs attached to them.

I don't think it's that cut and dry between the two groups. More like it would all be case by case. The late Sam Walton, founder of Wal Mart, was a millionaire a few times over and drove a 14 year old pick up truck.

I think whether it's self made or via the lotto, the smartest are those who keep the lowest profile.

As nice as spending a few $1 on tickets and winning a huge jackpot would be...I would rather my creative talents pay-off...like with in a few years I write a book, it sells like Harry Potter or Twilight...movies, video games action figures...that could lead to billions within a decade or so...while a lotto win could leave one broke within a year because sudden wealth can be a shock...but gradual wealth you can grow in to. There are a few lotto millionaires...There is PB MM, that s 2...And there is like: 13 out of the 42 or 38 states that have millionaires lottos above the: 5 million, only like 13...There might be 5 more but is usually like: 1 or 2 million and after taxes you are left with like: 700,000...So there is not a lot of lotto millionaires out there....

i think Millionaires is one of those things that makes the USA great...

It really has nothing at all to do with whther you are self made or a lottery winner. If you didnt and couldnt handle money before you won or made millions, you wont be able to handle it afterwards, unless and this is the exception. You realise your shortcoming as it relates to money and take the initiative to learn and listen. As well if you are a BAD ATTITUDE person before a windfall you will be a BAD ATTITUDE person after you make or win millions.

Watch Private chefs of Beverly Hills . Some of those rich people are just plain goofy!

selling New York brings up a bunch of snobs.

What are your thoughts on self made millionaires and lottery made millionaires?

I personally don't know or met any millionaires but I would imagine that the self made millionaires are the snotty snooty ones in Beverly Hills where as the lottery made millionaires are the more down to earth people since they have never experienced such great wealth before.
