Do you ever feel like the places you buy your tickets at are not places that would be likely to win?

hehe...Yeah, I do. I didnt know donut shops sell lottery tickets?! Here in Illinois lottery sold by Gas Stations, grocery stores. I do not drink so I do not know about those places. When I do check who got jp usually end up bigger towns or suburbs of Chicago. I also know that you just never know lol

There is one place I stop by from time to time to buy p3 tickets and sometimes I have bought scratch cards but never ever have I won anything there on a scratch card so I just gave that up at that store...try not to buy many now anyway.

Then there is this little hole in the wall place I have bought scratch cards before and have won $100 two times on the same kind of dollar card...this was last year...I just couldn't believe it when I bought them the second time and won another $100...the name... [ More ]

No, it's a four seater which works out good when we're entertaining and around the holidays.

I put a 2 holer on each side facing each other to make it easy to converse and such after supper.

There's been some kinda varmints down there lately makin a racket when we commence to usin' the facility though.

I gotta get them outta there before we have company again.

I used to buy from a grocery store nearby. But the clerks were always surly and I never won anything from there - and I got bad vibes .

So now I go to a grocery store that's out of the way. Still a big name box grocery store, but whenever I buy scratch-offs there, I win 1 out of 4 times. (Don't get excited, it's only $2 or $4 - but technically still a win.) So I figure, if the scratch-offs win there, then a ticket has to sometime....

I agree to a certain extent, small gas stations and those stores that don't sem to hit are hitting more jack pots in other states.especially scratch tickets.

I like to play in places where a win would help out. Not necessarily a big grocery store or gas station. The mom and pop places in the country or in a bad section of town.

When justx was posting here she said quite a few Florida winning tickets were sold at Dade Count Publix stores, many of them being free tickets (from matching 1 or 2 numbers?) that went on to win much bigger prizes.

I've been going to the same convenience store for the last few years. The owners are an elderly Indian couple, and I prefer getting my tickets from her because she's the friendly one of the two. I have it stuck in my head that only a happy clerk can sell a winning ticket.

Then again, the angry middle-easterners across the street sold a $15,000,000 winner in '97, so there goes that theory, lol

Well, I did do some PI spy work for an old girlfriend who was a divorce lawyer. She defended a few drug dealers every now and then too. But I wasn't too good at it.. I digress. Actually, in case I win the jackpot or any substantial prize, I don't want my licnese plate to be on the store's camera. Just another way for someone up to mischief to identify me. And besides, I need the exercise.

I generally favor establishments in areas where no one knows me, and that I can walk to after I park several blocks away. And yea, I do like liquor stores too, but I've found very few that meet my other criteria.

Part of me always feels like I need to go out of my way to find some obscure store to buy numbers from but then I start thinking about how it doesn't really matter. People are buying and losing at those stores the same way people are buying and losing at other stores. It's all random.

Most of our tickets are purchased in a supermarket but I've always got a hunch about a real huge jackpot coming from a real small liquor stor in a seedy neighborhood.

We have a convenience mart in the area on a busy highway and that store probably does more lotto business than anyone else around, but thus far no big winner.

Contrary to the OP, I don't feel anyplace is particularly unlucky, but some places indeed luckier than others.

a good strategy for people who like quick picks is to: find the areas that have a lot of winners and pool for quick picks in those areas...

I don't think Idaho liquor stores sell lottery. Here the big winners are usually sold at a convenience store IIRC.

I buy mine mostly at c-stores, and buy a few at a tobacco shop just because it's conveniently located.

So I've just been thinking about the places that I usually buy my tickets at and they all seem like places that are not likely to sell a winner. I don't know why but it's how I feel. I've bought tickets at all the places listed above and the liquor stores seems to be the best bet when it comes to having a winner. Whenever I see a CA winner it seems like they are always bought at a liquor store.
