Since this post I looked at video I had of last Las Vegas trip, mainly of the Bellagio Fountains, and I think I would take a trip there as soon as possible after winning. The shows I watched gave off a sense of just pure relaxation and being care free. I think it would be a good place to stay to relax. If I won a jackpot I wouldn't go too far. Just take a limo ride on down to Carmel, CA, park my keister in an outrageously priced beach house for the rest of my life and finish writing the great American novel that's been gathering dust in my drawer for the last 15 years.

That's why I'd visit that place when/if I have a lot of money to throw around..

Of course every big city in the world has its Glorious side and also the ugly side.

St Petersburg has a lot to offer IMO

..besides,

where else in the world can you ride a Fighter Jet with a Stripper on your lap?..you've got three guesses and the first two don't count..

What a great thread, lots of interesting ideas and places!

Personally, I'd have to buy a house someplace warm for the winter. That would be the first thing. Then, for places I'd like to go?

Relaxing in the Florida Keys.

Bass fishing in the land of 10,000 lakes (Minnesota).

Skiing in Colorado.

Cruise to Alaska.

I'd also have to get myself a Harley for cruising on warm spring days.

Sounds like a plan to me

I would go to Florida, spend a month at Disney World. (My kids would love me!) Disney's also opening up a new hotel in Hawaii, that would be a must. I would cruise, Disney also. (see a theme here?)

I've always wanted to visit Seattle and Salt Lake City, for some reason. If I had the time and money, I would do those as well.

I'm well aware that Hamilton is a seriously blue collar town. My b in law said that about 5 years ago Toronto outlawed smoking in bars. Hamilton's reaction was to make well known that you could still smoke in bars there and began a campaign to get people to come to Hamilton, where you can get commode hugging drunk and smoke a pack of cigarettes at the same time.

ohh and of course a after i get my giant airship fitted out like a luxury hotel ill cruise the world, and viwe the sites from my glass bottom obsevation room, no particular hurry to get any where, except maybe away any place that fires AA missles at me. but hopefully ill be cruising too high for them to notice

Lets see ,3 kids 10 million each,grand kids college fund 3 million,grand kids 1 million each if they finish college(only have 5 now) lets say 25 million in the fund.

You might as well just save time and money and go spend a weekend in Hamilton. My Torontoan brother in law tells me that anyway.

Russia is one part drunk tank and one part Salvation Army drunken bum shelter. I guess there is some charm to that since seediness has its own charms.

First traveling I'd do is go to Austin and stay in a nice hotel for a few days, during which the same time my lawyer will be taking care of everything. I would take these two days to relax knowing that any worry I've had is gone (I know some say that's when they just begin but I barely constitute having to say 'no' to people a worry).

First off, I'd go up to North Carolina and get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and drive up as far as Lexington, Virginia and go to where old Stonewall is resting and ruminate with him for a while. I do this every so often, and I think if I won a big jackpot it would be the last time I'd have a chance to do so; would probably make an entire morning or afternoon of it. There is this old couple here where I live that did that. Big Braves fans that, when they retired, followed the team on road trips in a motorhome back in the 90s when Bravos were really good. Went to every NL park with the Braves, and on off days went to the closest AL park for a game. They also spent the entire spring training with them in Florida. Mighty good stuff that.

I would love to see a total solar eclipse in real life. It's awe-inspiring to see the moon fit over the sun perfectly like a glove.

Ofcourse a movie can never be anywhere as good the real thing.

I would 'travel' on a small (100 foot) research vessel to the South Pacific, approximately 80 nautical miles northwest of Howland Island. That is where I believe Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, are located, along with the remains of her plane. From that point, I'd have to figure out a way to recover the wreckage.

I'd spend the spring in Europe, starting with Great Britain/Ireland. I'd spend the summer in a motorhome travelling the US, particularly the northern and/or mountainous parts that are a bit cooler in the summer. I'd spend the fall following the Boise State Broncos on their games, I'd attend every one. And I'd spend the winter in my motorhome exploring the states that are toasty that time of year.

I'd probably purchase a house on wheels and a sturdy wok and travel to every city in the state of TX visiting the Chamber of Commerce to learn about the city's history.

I would most definitely spend a lot of time in the coastal towns scarffing down mega loads of sea food.

Shrimp-Crab-Lobster-Fish-Calamari-Gator-Kelp.....

Afterwards, I'd probably have to rent a flatbed tow truck to haul my hefty butt home.

I love to travel..so I would probably go alot of places. However I have been kicking around doing a sort of Whiskey tour.. Going to several of my favorite distillaries... Jack Daniel's in Lynchburg, TN then up to Clermont, KY to see Jim Beam's....then to Loretto, KY to Maker's Mark. That is if I can still see straight! LOL

There would be too much work to do. Getting finances in line, buy my property, start on getting my house build MY way.

Maybe have an escape house built in case the US economy crushes, maybe a nice duplicate house in New Zealand or Australia... At least I can spend winters there...

i always liked the idea of metal detecting for gold. a top quality detector costs in the range of $6k. a good 4wd camper prob another $50k

sundry equip another $10k then id hit some gold fields around Australia.

you may laugh, WTF you will say. you already hit the jackpot. but as i camp out for 6 months , walking around the bush seeing mother nature, learning some geology, my money will be back at home earning interest. and even if i dont get a sniff of a gold nugget ill walk away wealthie... [ More ]

for 1 day for like 1000 bucks in that range,

you can have your own Tour guide who does ever thing for you at the park
