Based on prior experiences, I tried this again, and failed miserably.

All of these tickets listed on this post were purchased from the same roll. I purchased tickets 026 and 025, and both of those won $20, each. I had myself a nice little $20 profit. I decided to keep pushing my luck, ignoring the common sense that God gave me. I bought tickets numbered 24, 23 and 22. They all lost, but at least I quit after only losing $10. OK, I went back, and 006 hit a jingle bell, so I think that I actually made $10. I bought tickets 017 through 006. I lost 7 in a row, had two $15 winners back to back, lost two more, then hit for $100. So make that 2 Jingle Bells for me. Now I just need that $750,000 top prize, so I can take a few days off from the lottery. If I can't win that, I'll take all of the jingle bells I can. I won $50 on Jingle Jumbo Bucks. It took me a month to the day, from when I first started playing, and I won on my twentieth ticket, on ticket number 018. A week later, and after purchasing 14 more tickets, I won my first jingle bell symbol, which pays $100. It fell on the first ticket in the book, number 029. The average winning ticket is $22.22, pretty close to $20, or double the cost of the ticket. The overall average payout for each ticket is $8.16, including the losing tickets, which means

I know what you mean and how you feel.Here in Tennessee I bought 8 $$20.00 tickets in a row---7-14 and none were winners,the girl behind the register scanned them for me and not even a free ticket..thats 140.00 lost...I got the same response from the lottery office...It's all bull s^^t if you ask me and I will not play here anymore.I got so mad,I refuse to play any Tennessee lottery again....been playing and supporting for 4 years now,and I'm glad to say I quit cold TURKEY.

I know that this is the wrong site for this, but I figure I would ask anyway. Are there any advanced or expert computer folks on here? Hopefully you have experience with 10,000 RPM hard drives, raid 0, and possible failed disks. I had to disconnect two hard drives from my computer, so it is not as fast as it was, and I am unable to access any of the data on those drives. Thank God I have a fail over backup system, but I am still missing my web sites that I am hosting.

If you had kept the winning tickets, or at the very least memorized or written down the ticket numbers, you would have known that the tickets had been played since you left the store. Never be afraid to ask the cashier what the ticket numbers are. I have found that I won on #017 and #007 on a sigle roll, so that would lead me to the conclusion that #12 was most likely a winner as well, and I wish I had bought it. Another thing I have found is that after a big win of at least 3-4 times the value

Overall my best luck is at Giant Supermarkets. But my last two $100s (BWS and Cash Fever) have come from Wegmans. I've been playing the machines, but I also am disturbed by the ticket hawk factor. Problem is, WaWa stores don't carry lotto, so I have to go a bit out of my way to play from the counter.

I am going to do exactly that. I will primarily be looking for the ticket numbers, within the same game. I usually avoid the stores with lots of big winners on the wall, because it makes me think that the cashiers are counting the tickets, and buying the winners themselves. How else does that explain a slow gas station having 50 $100 to $500 tickets posted on the wall? Surely not all of the winning customers turn in their tickets where they buy them anyways. I am guilty of thinking that they will learn if I don't play, or quit going to McDonald's because they have all of those ghetto commercials that seem to be catering to only the hip hop segment of society. I never eat there for that reason, but they still haven't called me up yet to see why I haven't been in for a few years. I guess our few hundreds or thousands of dollars spent there is only a tiny grain of sand in the whole Gulf Of Mexico. Sad to say, they probably don't care if we play.

CarHauler have you ever been to a store that displays winning tickets?

here in TN, some stores will do this, i.e. display them on a wall or up around the register. This might be a good way to study winning tickets.

as for complaining to the lottery, I say send them your feedback and see what they say. everyone is entitled to their opinion and it does not hurt to send your opinion. i love watching people get bent out of shape just because someone else posts something they do not agree with.... [ More ]

He was overreacting to you, CarHauler. Most everyone who plays complains about the lottery. The odds seem worse because they put some rolls out with more winners so they can even it out - but there are a lot of bad rolls. The lottery is slanted badly. The best way to get back at them if you are mad (and I'm still in a losing streak) is to not play. Sometimes I do not play.

Yes, friend, I was actually a little unhappy. I wanted to see what their response was, and I also wanted to see what the other members of this board had to say about their experiences with this ticket. I believe that they may have over stated the odds. I have spent over $1000 on the lotto over the course of around 3 months, and have never, ever had consistent luck that was anywhere near that bad. Not only that, those are not cheap tickets.

You are kidding right? You are complaining to the lottery because you did not win? You should be embarrassed. I can understand frustration if you bought 17 tickets in a row but you bought them at 4 different stores. Of course the lottery randomly distributes tickets. I won $50 on Jingle Jumbo bucks yesterday, and $25 on it today. Not too bad for $30 worth of tickets. I then went and bought one at QT, and they never win from there, so shame on me. I guess that means I spent $40, but not to win, I only spent $30 to win, and wasted the other $10 after I had won at my favorite lottery retailers.

Well, I spent $30 on other games and struck out. I still don't know whether to be pissed at the cashier. I ordered two Holiday Gifts, and a Giant Jumbo Bucks #044. I dont know how they couldnt but it just seems there could easily be so much corruption in lottery but in todays world, post-Enron, it seems lotteries would be tightly audited (and casinos for that matter

I bought 3 of the Jingle Jumbo Bucks while in GA last weekend -- 1 was a 'winner' of a free TICKET. I bought another one down the road and lost it. So I guess that is about right but not nearly enough bought to really tell.

This is really going to change the way I play the lottery. Best odds does not always equal best payout. For example, I will compare the odds of winning $20 on two different tickets.

Giant Jumbo Bucks overall odds 1 in 3.27. Odds of winning $100 are 1 in 1000.

20X the Money overall 1 in 4.05 Odds of winning $100 are in 275.

He has a much more detailed website, and he compares the best and worst tickets.

Guess what I just found myself, a real gem. No not a winning ticket, but the next best thing. I have found a website that lists ALL of the odds for a game her in GA. I don't know where he got it, but I have been looking for it forever. Up until now, I only knew about top prizes. I am so excited. Thanks Matt, that is what I was thinking. I was curious how others were doing when I put up this poll, but at that exact time, I had not done the math yet. I had quit buying them for a while, but resumed to see if I would have the same luck, and I have. $10 is no small amount of change to go down the drain every time you play.

Earlier this week I bought 4 Jingle Jumbo Bucks and was lucky enough to actually see the jingle bells! It was the first time I had won more than $40 on the srcatch off game and I was really excited. I have won on ticket number 22, but it was another game and it was not a big win and I usually by 4-5 tickets (sometimes more) from a particular store that I have had some luck with.
