This is an interesting topic. I've read about businesses that sold lottery tickets and quit selling them for the same reason, they cut into business. I remember reading about some newsstands, like one here in town and those in the Atlanta airport the previously sold lottery tickets then quit. The reason for it was even though the stores made a lot of profit on lottery ticket sales, sales of their other, more profitable products, declined, therefore the businesses actually made less money, so the... [ More ]

I'm really surprised bars (as in 'bar grill) here don't have them. I've seen so many stories mention people buying winning ones from there yet I've never seen any here sell anything other than food or beer, with the only games being things like pool, shuffle board and arcade machines.

There have been times I was out with a friend and we stayed past the cutoff time for buying tickets (about 9pm here), would have been nice to just be able to get some there.

I can't think of any unusual places where lottery tickets are sold around here. I like to buy them in this little discount cigarette store, though I don't smoke. However, it was a grocery store where I had my best win to date, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
