Unfortunately, what they will take away from this is not to do anymore of this type of program. Instead, they need to realize that the $10 one was successful and to continue in that vein.

The final jackpot ended up being $191K. Very very sad. Bet they won't do that again any time soon.

When Idaho's lottery came out with the Winner Takes All Raffle, I posted that since the tickets cost $20 that they would sell slightly fewer than the previous $10 raffles. My estimate was that they would sell 200K tickets making the jackpot 2 million. (Original thread # 230067 has been closed.)

Time passes . . . .

It's now just about 7 hours till the raffle closes, and the jackpot is ... wait for it ... less than $180K. It MIGHT get to 200K if the lottery bothers to remind people... [ More ]
