With the Lottery Director making a STATIC filtered wheel and using all the 35 numbers for the 4 main numbers of a Tx2Step game the best that it could do with its filters was make a little fewer than 30, 000 combinations and even then it would not pass all the winning numbers, but maybe about half of them, that is it maybe would win with all 4 main winning numbers only about half of the time, a full 35 numbers wheel for the main numbers is 52, 360 total unfiltered combinations, there are not very... Thanks for the detailed info. I keep 2 old xp computers for all my software. When I go to win 7 on my laptop and use various programs it either gives me a compatability error or the the excel program quits working entirely. Thats why I keep the old xp's around. I used the automatic wheels and the seem good.

Lottery Director will no longer be updating the game history files so even registered users will have to do it manually. But they can save manual updates and the trial version can't. The save feature is the only difference between the two versions.

There appears to be a problem with the Lottery Director program when you make the wheel text file it will tell you that it is OK to make and will let you make a wheel for a pick 4 game for example with a name like:

LDW40400, but later when you are trying to import that wheel into the program it won't let you do it it says that the name must be changed to LDW40401 up to LDW40408 so the last two numbers are from 01 up to 08.

There was somebody asking about how to make quickpicks with Lottery Director, one way would be to:

Go to Lottery Director.lnk

Then go to LD Free Wheeling.lnk

Go to FastPick.PIF

Enter any key next

Then enter any numbers from 3 to 9

Enter a 5 for a pick 5 game or a 6 for a pick 6 game

If you entered a 5 before now enter 5 to 8 pick 5 numbers, any numbers from 0 to 100, really 1 to 99 best.

If you entered 8 numbers it will give you 20 quick picks.

Tomorrow Saturday it is the last day I think that anybody can buy the registered version.

There is a trial version, but after tomorrow that is all that there will be, nobody will be able to buy the program after tomorrow.

The trial version has very many limitations on it, it will be good only for some things.

You get the trial version at the Lottery Director site.

In order to understand most of the statistics on that program I would probably need to read the help documentation that comes with the program, maybe all is there, but I would not be too sure about it, I will know in the future sometime when I do read it.

I don't yet know just how good or bad it might be, it appears to be good enough as a tool, it is probably worth getting it registered as I did.

Either for the stats the wheeling or for both things.

One way of making a custom wheel with the Lottery Director is to:

Go to C:\Ldir

Then double Lth click on Lottery Director.lnk

Then go to LD Free Wheeling.lnk and double Lth click on it, then

Go to WheelGen.PIF and double click on it

Then press any key on the keyboard

Enter the name of the wheel that you want to make, if it is a wheel that you want to IMPORT into the Lottery Director use a LDW followed by a 4 for pick 4 or a 5 for pick 5 or a 6 for pick 6

Yesterday with just a dial-up Internet connection I downloaded the newest VMware Player it is 116 MBs, it is very big for download using a dialup connection, I had to use a download manager and it took many hours to download, but got downloaded O.K.

Without a good download manager it can't be downloaded using dialup, you need at least DSL.

If you want to see all the wheels use page down or the down arrow because each screen only shows 15 wheels. Pressing A puts the wheels in numerical order and B through J are all self explanatory. Later when I take the time I will read about making custom wheels and see if I can make my own wheels, but of course Lottery Director has some limitations, so I don't yet know how that will work out, I will post here about it, when ready.

Now you look up and on the top menu you see:

S = Store

Press the S and the lines will be stored, that is saved.

Now you might see Your Ticket Files

Enter 1

It should show the tickets, but you need to:

Press P

It says to enter a password, you can just press the enter key.

A new window will open up with all the lines on it.

You can copy the lines that you see there as if it was NotePad or WordPad.

I contacted Ldir tech support. They said Microsoft offers 2 free downloads. Virtual PC and Virtual XP. Go to the MS site in search enter Virtual XP Mode and follow the instructions. Install PC first then XP. After they are installed you will see a selection for XP on the starting menu. Click on it and you can install the Ldir and simillar programs. It only works for windows professional and higher. I will try it later, wish me luck! Thanks guys.

DOS = Disk Operating System

It probably comes in 8, 16 and 32 Bits

The Commodore 64 was an 8 bit computer

My WinXP operating system is 32 bits.

Lottery Director maybe just as Ion Saliu's programs are 32 bits DOS applications.

So now they are compatible with Win98 to WinXP 32 bits version.

Lottery Director's and Ion Salius programs' application windows appear to be 32 bits DOS windows, they have the properties of such DOS windows.

Not going to claim to be an expert in this area. When you have a dos program like GH used to be, you have to create a pif to run it on windows. Even if you can drop to a dos prompt, it can be a big mistake trying to install a dos program as it can overwrite windows programs in big chunks like it doesn't know they're there.

MS wants people to keep on updating to new operating systems when they come out and a lot of people do Take the bait , WinXP is no worse right now than it was before and it does still seem to run most Windows software.

It seems to me that it is not quite outdated, maybe getting there, but not yet there.

Just before your post, BobP posted and said that Lottery Director is NOT a DOS program, that IT IS a Windows program that looks and feels like a DOS program, so then using DOSBox with it, would not work as DOSBox can't run Windows programs.

Hi, I run old 16bits progs on my Windows Vista 32 bits. I use DosBox 0.74 to do it. Just download this free app. You then open your app from it or just drop your app on DoxBox icon. Now, there is probably a DosBox or or other for 64 bits systems.

Hard to believe lottery software has been around since the eighties. As microsoft ends support for older dos and 16 bit and now 32 bit we learn to keep an older computer or two for when we come across some interesting antique software we'd like to run.

I use WinXP, I have not yet seen a reason to upgrade as WinXP runs most programs, so far yet.

I was finally able to get a listing of the wheeled numbers without having to print the playslips.

So far so good.

You can always get a cheap old WinXP Pc or Dual Boot your Pc, so you can have WinXP on your hard drive also.

I just ried to use it without reading the PDF books that come with it and the first thing to do is the wheeling I guess and it is not self explanatory at all, the wheeling thing is bad, I have used other wheelers such as LottoHat and Advanced Lotto Wheeler and here it is very hard to make wheels it says Your Pick Options

It seems like the whole problem is that Windows 7 home premium 64 bit is not compatible with their system (32 bits). Which is what it said right in the beginning. If not for that we would be up and running.

While I don't like DOS programs, the main problem maybe is that you need to print the instructions and read them first before you can use the program(s), also as was said, the only way to update the past draws on it is by hand one draw at a time, as there won't be any more online updates.

Some programs just don't have an easy to use user interface, even some Windows programs are like that, but of course in general it can be worse with DOS programs.

That is exactly what I have and then when I click on one of them to open it, is when I get the msgs. The only thing I can get into is the guidebook. When I read the instrutions on how to download, when you click on these in the folder it is supposed to install it and then you can use the system. But its not happening.

i have the same exact OS as you do with a 64 bit, and i just downloaded and installed it without the message you got, but now I have something i don't know how to use. i saved it to my desktop and when i click on the icon, i get this below. so i don't know how to download the history file, or even just to open up the p-3 tools with what i have here.

I get that same message when a friend sometimes emails me a lottery system and i try installing it. But then it asks me if i want to go on the net (with a link provided) and find the right program or whatever, and install it. when i do try to look it up, i get too many options to choose from, and it doesn't say which is the right one for the version i need, so i don't even bother with it anymore.

Yes I did. Its a 2 step process, first download it , then install. It downloaded but when I try to open it to install it, I get a msg saying the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows I am using. So I can't even open it.

It's a trial version and if you decide to keep it you can register with lottery director, but they are not taking new registrations after Jan 1. They even say if you can't install it you can remove/delete it. As far as downloading a 32 bit Windows... [ More ]

Someone else on their forum/ help page had the same issue back in April. According to their tech support, Microsoft made the decision to support legacy sites like L.D. with 32 and 64 bits on Microsoft Enterprise, Ultimate, and Professional. But only 32 bits on the Home Premium which I have. I have no idea how to download 32 bits onto my laptop. Their site says 64 bits on the Home Premium is not compatible with their system.

You should be able to install any 32-bit software on 64-bit Windows. The only time you have to worry is if you have 32-bit Windows and you're trying to install 64-bit software. But the other way around should be fine.

One of things I liked about Lottery Director was they never pretended their tools were a system that guaranteed jackpot wins. Joe's software made playing the lottery more fun and his support was second to none. Never was a fan of just buying QPs.

I read where the game history files will no longer be updated once a week but after all Joe is retiring. I got my money's worth and even though it will be more difficult to use, there still might be a nice win or two using what I have.
