I haven't done any lengthy backtesting of the suggestions I made. I was hoping that some of the readers would take this methodology in hand and do some testing. I really think that there are some serious dollars that could be mined using this methodology. Just to give an example, I used a draw list that contained 7 past draws. It should not make a difference, but for the sake of order and updating the draw file correctly, I think it's a good idea to list the draws in the order which they have fallen.

I have heard from a few readers, that they have been successful by looking at the last 10 days worth of plays and considering the selections generated by the keys that show a winning trend of 3 or more. If there aren't any keys that show a winning trend of 3 or more, they add new draws one at a time a... [ More ]

Sorry for the delay in answering.

You pose a very good point. I'd never profess playing all of the selections generated by each key, because over a period of 10 days you'd likely win no more than a box payoff, per each set of selections . Here's what I would suggest, and this needs verification, which could only come from a good amount of backtesting. You either pick one or two keys and go with the selections generated from those keys or do something along the following lines... [ More ]

Quick question regarding the 1000 draws. Does it matter for the keys being generated if you have to put the 1000 draws in a certain order such as eve # then day # (alternating between them) or all eve # then follow by all day #?

The below is you found 9 keys which are the Top three performing #s starting from 03/27/12 over the past 180 days.

Then, we will get 9 X 32 =288 tickets as our bet for next days (maybe 8 or 10 days, we're still not sure,)

As a follow up to the test. The next five winners were:

7096, 1499, 7756, 2498, 7795

7096 was unlocked by 1689 and 2498 was unlocked by 2479.

Not terribly bad.

I created a new program, which combines pretty much of the enhancements I was asked to include by several readers. The name of the program is called 4ToWin.exe. Download to the same working folder as the other files (Handicapping The Pick4) were downloaded to.

1. Prepare a draws file of any length up to 1000 draws(still called drawsP4.txt).

Hi Everyone:

I did a quick test using the P4 in Wisconsin. Starting Feb. 29,2012 and going back 180 draws, I created the draw file and ran the new version of keyPerformance. The top performiong keys were:

1358 unlocking 24 winners

0257 unlocking 22 winners

0268 unlocking 21 winners

Here are the next 10 winners from March 1st to March 10th

4837, 7893, 6613, 1026, 8742, 6493, 9207, 3269, 3100, 1538, 1285

The key 1358 was itself a winning number, but it did not unlock... [ More ]

Just did a test of seven days in march (midday only), it gave me 3 keys with more than 2 after the dash. Out of those 3 keys only one of them produced a box winner in the next 4 days.

Middays winners in iowa 3/17-3/23

These gave me the keys:

0156 - 2

0578 - 2

1245 - 2

So the next 4 days winning numbers were:

I use a Mac and unfortunately, can't use your program :( When I open the keyperformance.exe file, the only thing pops out is a file with lots of random/errors words

Here is the link for downloading Rev1 of keyPerformance.exe, named keyPerformance_Rev1.exe. Just place it in the same folder as keyPerformance.exe. In this rev you can have up to 1000 past draws in the draw file.

You are right. The program crashes because of the limitation of 30 draws. I'm going to expand this limitation to 1000(you'll never need this). I'll provide the readers with the download link in a future post along with some new observations.

Thanks for jumping in to clarify some points that others did not understand. I have another interesting variation for play with this system.

In the 30 day variation, we are looking for keys that have shown a trend to unlock winners, hoping that the trend will still prevail over the next 5-10 draws. using your program yesterday morning I found 1 key that had 7 hits and a couple of 6 hits. i used this 7 hit key and one of the six to run in your unlock program. Midday and evening comb was in both. I will be doing more testing to see how often this happens and can it be used to reduce # of plays.

Jayemmar neat bit of programming. thanks for another tool.

If I can try to explain the process. he takes all 715 possible keys( box combinations), checks the last 30 draws ( you have to create this past draw file) to find which of the 715 keys were most productive. you review the output file and you choose 1 or more of these productive keys as an input to the unlock program to generate possible plays.

Destiny can you take a past draw # and say it is more likely than another previous draw

Why would you use the 715 numbers between 0000 and 9999 as the keys to work off of unlocking future winning Pick 4 numbers, rather than the actual numbers that have been drawn in your Pick 4 game ???

Why would you use the number 1279, which generated 9107, if 1279 was not one of the Pick 4 numbers recently drawn in your state ??? The point is you would have no way of logically guessing which of 715 numbers to use the +1 / -1 Strategy on.
