Just to clear things up, my posts aren't to discourage anyone from taking a shot at the PB, oaky. I like to see when people win because the odds are almost infinitely against the players. My point is to try and help players understand the value of their money and to spend it wisely on this game. Yeah, they raised the price of it without warrant, in my opinion, but that doesn't mean not to play. You'll just have to settle for less lines.

I see where it's more reasonable for a player to just hope for matching (5) numbers for the $1million.

And probably why PB went to $2 tickets even though for the same $2 bet players could win $1 million before the change. When you think about it, matching anything less than 4 + 1 really isn't a win, but in every drawing somebody should win $1 million and many players will win $10,000. like you I spend quite a bit on numbers games also like you I have often felt more like a loser then a winner, I stopped playing scratch offs because I spent more then I earned on a regular basis. I thought about it and decided to concentrate for a while on pick three and for games. In NYC the payoff is 500 for 1$ and on four 5000 for 1$. Good information, Stack. I see where it's more reasonable for a player to just hope for matching (5) numbers for the $1million. That's a lot of tickets sold for only (3) matches. As a reference, math definitely proves that this is truly a game of luck and being very fortunate...not spending lots of money. My opinion: Stop playing Keno.

While I was doing a little lottery research a few months back, I decided to analyze previously drawn Keno numbers and then put some money towards the game. The way I had the numbers picked, I should have at least gotten a $25 hit from it, if not a $250. The numbers drawn were in such an odd pattern (by odd, I mean a there were a large cluster of numbers back-to-back, like 25-26-27-28-29-30, can't remember the exact pick.) Have you compared the odds of an average Keno game to the 31.8 to 1 odds of winning something in PB or 39.9 to 1 in MM?

$20 per day for keno and $10 for other games amount to $10,950 for 365 days or one year. I know at least four people who spent a third that much on lotteries the last few years and never won anything over $100. That means, together they spent more than you and didn't do any better, so there are a lot of other players in the same situation.

Good advice Nikki! I played the Powerball faithfully between 97 and 07 , and finally scored a second prize in mid 07 . Well worth the wait.

just have to keep on playing or stop, many have played for years and hit the jackpot,

I play the lottery every day for the past 20 years. I spend at least 20.00 per day on keno 10.00 on the numbers game and play all the bigger games. I gave up scratch tickets because they were costing me too much money with very few winners. I used to hit keno before 2 years ago but something has changed now because I never hit any more!!!!.
