His story is sad but it's his own darn fault.

When players always play the same numbers that's the risk they take on the nights they forget to play or for some reason can't play. It could have been worst too because players buying subscriptions or multi-play believing they won a jackpot could find out their subscription ended the drawing before.

and have a heart for the 1000's out there like me that miss by 6 numbers ea and every weeek. cmon people we are in the samegame, maybe the ones we dont feel for are the ones that show a weakness we see in ourselves and we dont like to see. I feel all your pains , and hope by reading about them to avoid them.

I feel sorry for all of the lottery players that miss winning the big jackpot for whatever reason, including myself. We all play the lottery to try to win it eventually. Although, it could be their fault that they chose to play different that particular day, it is called taking the risk to try to get lucky and I sincerely wish him good luck next time in winning big.

Respectfully speaking RJ, I just cannot bring myself to feel sorry for someone who missed the PB jackpot by one number (5+0), to end up getting

just $1M. For many people $1M in of itself, could be very life changing.

The Ohio Super Lotto Plus I can understand, $1500 vrs $11M. It is sad to miss any lottery game by just one number however. Happened to me with

The players I fell sorry for are the ones that made it to the terminals, played their numbers, paid their money and missed winning the jackpot by one number. That happened to me back in 2002 with Ohio's Super Lotto Plus and I ended up paying taxes on $1500 instead of collecting a $11M jackpot and feeling I had my chance and blew it. This is lottery karma at its worst and only if you had bought $1.00 QP and $1.00 on the numbers you normally play, your life would have changed in an instant. That is why I always, always play my chosen numbers no matter what!! My ignorance, wasn't paying attention, assumed this was a state game. That being said however, how is it that he almost won just $8 million.

With the newly revamped PB, with a starting jackpot of $40 million, I'm not understanding the math here?

Anyhow let me re-calculate the cost factor then for 30,000 years. Two lines a week x 52 weeks x 30,000 years = $12,480,000. This would not be a

Good point mc but even his math is bad as a repeat can be expected in more like 30,000 years from now. Also he mentioned that he is playing PB so the cost will be double and his cost will be around $1,200,000. after 30,000 years of playing 2 lines.

Perhaps we need a new law that prohibits people without a job from playing the lottery

I to have been in that situation. Knowing a number is coming up, but being hesitant to play it. But like the individual said about the butterfly effect, is true also. When I know a specific number should come up, and when it does, it is always one number off. Go figure. My sugestion is, play your numbers multiple draws. This will cover you if you forget your slips.

Although if you were patient, and continued playing your same numbers for 1,556 years (for 2 plays/week x 52 weeks x 1,556 years = $161,824),

and you were to win $8 million this time around, you'd still be ahead by $7,838,136.

That is provided both you and the game are still around in 1,556 years. Just keep taking your vitamins and watch your diet, you should be fine

I don't think I will play the same numbers. I think I read somewhere that it could 1,556 years for a set of numbers to come out. The odds are not great. I am debating whether to pick a new set a numbers and play until....... or play a different numbers for every drawing.

a game here is a 7/45 draw or 1in 45 mill odds . the game just went off at $12M and reset to start of $2M last week . this week its $5M and im having a hard time briging myself to buy a ticket just yet. n after your story, what will i feel worse over losing $1 ,or missing out on $5M?

im off to store today and buying the $1.20 ticket

The lesson I learned is to stay consistent and listen to the inner you. Listen to your instincts and stay consistent. Prior to May 2, I was getting all kinds of good omens to play the lottery. I followed them but the one I didn't follow was not to deviate from my playing style which was to play the same card until .........

A UK member who posts in the lottery system forum was trying to prove lighting strikes more than once by combining all the major lottery results into one data file to see if any combination had ever come up more than once. I occasionally look over there to see if has posted any follow ups but so far he hasn't.

I was playing Lotto. But now I play those same numbers for Powerball, Pick 10 and Mega. To me, they have a nice syntax --- so I hope they will repeat in those games.

I got on the forum today seeing the results for the last two draws gave me 2+0 on both draws with my multi-draw ticket, missing any kind of payout by just one digit each time, then I saw this. Sorry to hear.

If you have a regular set of numbers that you always play then you should know them as well as you know your social security number just in case, but don't feel bad it's happened before.

If you search the LP archives you'll find several similar stories. It's not all bad, since combinations seldom repeat you can be fairly sure it will never happen again if you keep those numbers as your regular numbers. Good luck.

The thing with the lotto is that you can NEVER know when your numbers may fall. Yes it is very fustraiting when you see that you would've won the Jackpot etc etc but with positive thinking it may happen again!! Karma works in mysterious ways some times. I've done that twice while playing Mega but never the Jackpot. Keep your head up Gamaea you never know you just might be the next POWERBALL winner

This happens more often than you think. The thing is, if you did drive home to get your playslip and played those numbers, you probably wouldn't have won. It's part of the butterfly effect within chaos theory. I know it's hard to imagine, but had you played those numbers, you wouldn't have won $8M.
