First, Let me say Thanks for your Vote Maddog.

I just got off the phone with Paul's - they said they were in a back-to-back Championship with Danny's Pizzs Last Year. They said they were ahead at first but in the end Danny's Pizza won by a landslide. Looks Like The Same Sereno is happening again. Paul's states Danny has a large following on facebook.........

But, I don't think it's as big as the following on LP.

I don't know what to believe Right Now. It says above Danny's Pizza leads Pauls by 112 as of 10PM last night. Then it goes on to say Will Paul's make it back-to-back Crosstown Champs? Paul's didn't win it last year - It was Danny's Pizza in 2012................................................

I have to find out what is going on - I don't know if the person who did the post this morning for Downtown Madness was asleep or awake when he did the above post.

Know exactly where your are talking about. Northwest Hwy RT 31 (State St in Elgin). I was just up in that area last week, they open a Harbor Warehouse up there on 14 I wanted to check it out.

In my opinion; if I was running this March Madness for the best restaurants in Elgin here is what I would have done. I would have had one ballot (numbered coded) with all the participating restaurants on it with 3 boxes next to each restaurant marked 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Each Homeowner would get to mark only 1 box per restaurant up to 3 restaurants. I would have enclosed this ballot with the water bill from the city. Cook County 60120 Kane County 60123. One reason Danny's pizza won it last year in a landslide victory was due to all his friends on facebook their friends their friends etc, etc.etc. stated they were all his friends.

Is that right? I don't think so. But let's face it, I think Paul's deserves to play by the same rules. And, if the rules states friends - so be it.

No, because the rules state that you can ask family, friends, co-workers to Vote. You can also go to www.facebook.com/downtownelgin and make your selection on which food looks better. Also; Elgin is a city made up of 2 counties (Cook Kane Counties) depending where you live. I have lived in both counties (currently Kane). And yes, in Cook County that is how things work. I have a tee shirt that reads ILLINOIS WHERE OUR GOVERNORS MAKE OUR LICENSE PLATES Sad but true

Voting doesn't start for another 1 hr 10 min. or 5:00 PM CDT and will be closed at noon on Monday 4/8/2013.

I love both places which have excellent food, but I chose Paul's Family Restaurant because of the people who work there. It's family owned just about all the help there have been there for years on end. They will joke with you you can return the favor with no ill regrets. Isn't asking people who never ate in either of those places to vote for one of them skewing the whole vote just a wee bit, or is this copying the way things work in Cook County?

My hometown (Elgin, IL) is having a March Madness Contest between to determine the best restaurants in town. It is now down to the final two restaurants:

(1) Paul's Family Restaurant
