ABC Cancels Lucky 7 After Only 2 Episodes:

The ABC series Lucky 7 has been officially canceled and is the first casualty of the 2013-14 broadcast season.

The new series had kicked off last week and had a very underwhelming number in the ratings, which dropped even lower for the second episode.

Yep .. second episode is miles high better than the pilot.. Unfortunately I read the rating is awful for last night and probably won't be on long.. I think people were turned off with the first episode but I hope people give it chance because it does get better..

I just watched it on demand because I forgot it came on the other day. Not bad at all.. I like the show.. and the fact it's not just about the lottery win but the lives that are about to be affected.. The brothers.. the bald headed one.. I dislike him already.. i believe it was him that voted aganst his brother to not get the money grrrrrr ... I'm going to keep watching it... I just have to remember what night it comes on

It is always about the ratings whuch equals advertising dollars. ABC will probably only show 1-2 more episodes until they find a replacement show for that timeslot.

Yep it got a 1.3 rating from what I read there were 6 episodes ordered but it might not make it 6.

Not all of ABC's news was good on Tuesday. The TV By the Numbers website reported that the 10 p.m. debut of Lucky 7, a series about a group of co-workers who win the lottery, was the network's lowest rated drama debut ever.

The second one was much better than the first, they did it so it so each episode was showing how each person spent their money etc then the last episode was like showing how all the characters end up.

The US show is exactly the same as the British Version The Syndicate in the exception that they added two characters and changed a few minor things. It kind of sucks. I thought it was based on that show, meaning it would have similarities but be different. But nope it is the same show with different actors/actresses. Hope as it goes on the storyline changes a little so it is not the same. The season preview didn't look that way though.

I was disappointed seemed like characters from LCML the whole time I was watching I kept comparing their stories to the ones on TLCML.

1. Ex-convict ( the person in Michigan that went to prison for selling drugs)

2. The wife who husband left her the day she won from California.

3. The lady that did not play from Florida though she was not on TLCML

4. The Guy that owned his own mechanic shop.

I seen the British version The Syndicate and it was really good. There was only 5 episodes in Series 1 and the ending sucked but overall it was really good. I couldn't watch Series 2 (except the 1st episode) because I couldn't find it anywhere online. I think Lucky 7 will be good. One of the actresses was in the British version.

With the big jackpots and all the interesting lottery stories, I think this show stands a good chance of doing well. Lotteries are starting to be seen differently. It seems pretty slick in the promo.

Alot of these reality shows are scripted, so they might as well be fiction anyways...but to prove that there are some really good fiction shows on here's a few of my favs...

Burn Notice

Person of intrest

Royal pains

All the Law and Orders

C.S.I.

N.C.I.S (both of them)

Rizzoli and Isles

Major Crimes

I could go on and on but these are some of the highest rated fiction shows on t.v...with the exception of Burn notice which just ended their series

I work in reality television and there is very little 'reality' to it, other than real places instead of sets and real people instead of actors reading lines. The producers don't tell the people exactly what to say, but they do tell them what to talk about (prompts, suggestions, etc). Also, scenarios are often shot multiple times to get the best effect. Whats funny about your statement is that Reality shows are heavily choreographed to get the best TV moments. Remember ratings equal more $$$$$ so the networks do anything and everything to boost ratings. Always, let me repeat... always follow the money.

Yes, I would rather have a show based on real life situations (as real as it could be - considering much of the reality TV show category is not really unscripted and unedited). I also think this will be a short lived series. Sometimes you never know what show will become the next hit though. Look at Duck Dynasty. The new tv show about a group of lottery winners will premiere tonight at 10:00 on ABC. I watch anything and everything abouy the lottery, but I got a feeling the show only last for a few episodes. NBC had a show called Windfall with the same premise and it got cancelled after 13 episodes. I think the reason these type of shows don't work because it is fiction. The lottery changed my life is better because it is actual lottery winners telling their stories. I will watch the first episode tonight... [ More ]
