However, lately, I know the odds are astronomical but someone out there is that one who beats the odds and wins every few weeks.

When the jackpots reach certain levels and more tickets are sold, there are some times over a 50% probability of the jackpot being won. I know exactly how you feel. I actually calculated in one particular game that I managed to land a near 5 standard deviation occurence on the losing side. Had a laugh about my luck after that one LOL

Times like these will test anyones sanity and emotions...but what Ive found to get me thru times like these is I focus on what I have and what went right rather than what I dont have or went wrong....Like Wow thank goodness my car started today or thank goodness I have a car. Thank goodness I have a place to stay, food to eat, thank goodness I dont have a dibilitating illness etc. etc....When you recognize the good it makes the bad not seems so bad

Congratulations on getting a job.in this lousy economy. Sounds like you have loving parents and that's a great thing. When it comes to playing the lottery I still believe it's just plain luck. Some people can play for 30 years or so and never win anything and then you hear of a person who only occasionally plays MM or PB and wins the jackpot. I don't know if you play the pick 4 but just looking at the last two months you can get pr.hits your state does it just as much as MO. Anything can happen in the lotto nick. I myself have been waiting 17 years to win a major prize in powerball and 3 years for mega millions. I don't get down too much when someone wins though because my time will be the next one. That is the way you have to look at lotto the next time it will be you. When I don't win I just get another ticket and say to myself it is my time to win this time around. Lottonick, you sound like you are doing better than average. You managed to get a job and many grads are working at Starbucks. You have parents to help you out and not everyone does. I graduated some time ago when everyone had jobs lined up by the time they graduated or shortly afterwards. I think my generation is the last one to enjoy those times and no one's job is guaranteed anymore (no matter how many degrees one has). I think you will do well at your new job

It's ok to get a little down sometimes. But after allowing yourself some down time, think positive thoughts. I struggle too with negative thinking. Just don't let it consume you.

I'm 59. My second child, a daughter just graduated last December also. She got a job in Austin pretty quick, but the pay is not very good. So Mama and I help her by covering her car and health insurance, and cell phone bill (she's on our plan). And occasionally I'll need to transfer $ to her bank account. It doesn't... [ More ]

Yeah realizing someone out there other than me has won. Knowing that I spent all my energy praying hoping and explaining why I want to win hasn't done anything to make it come true. It's not that I don't do anything besides just playing the lottery - look for jobs, coming up with ideas for a business and other things. I want a whole new beginning. Lately, things haven't been going my way. I graduated from college in December 2012 and have spent this entire year looking for full-time employment. Finally got an opportunity to begin training at a company for a full-time position at the beginning of December of this year.
