We can pay bills, shop, bank online and we can even bet on horse races. One of these days the people will figure out part of Freedom is legally spending our money as we choose. For some reason the people in politics want you to brave the weather and buy the same lottery tickets you could buy without leaving your home. But I guess without hypocrisy there would be no politics.

I think the weather is a good reason for online play also.

Take today for instance.

Tonite is MM night.

Considering the weather, New York alone has lost I would approximate (based on a hunch and no data whatsoever) 20 million dollars today in lost revenue.

Being I am a hard core lottery player I did brave the weather, and only managed to barely escape frostbite on only my most extreme of extremities. The clerk even managed to piss me off, but it was so cold that I just bit my tongue.... [ More ]

I think its a great idea, because I cant seem to control my impulse to knock over the cheesy poofs.

I dont know, I have that recurring feeling that these clerks keep on giving me the evil eye.

Even after I apologize put away my boxcutter and pick up all the cheesy poofs off the floor.

Always use playslips filled out by yourself

It saves a lot of trouble for you and the clerk

There may be a few states ( Conn. being one of them I think ) , where they dont have the option of playslips. Though I never could figure why a state would not have play slips as an option also.

There are a few players around town here , that are notorious for holding up the lines at stores getting the clerks to punch in dozens and dozens of numbers . And then yelling at the c... [ More ]

I'd say the biggest hold up is retailers complaining about the loss they would take, but it's coming one way or another and honestly i can't wait. Retailers will still be making good money though from those who will not be comfortable using the computer for gambling transactions. I would imagine alot of the older folks would be dead against purchasing their tickets that way.

Regardless, it's coming and the sooner the better

At some point, playing online will have to be amended all across the board due to the technical and software advancements happening every second of the day. For those who are really good with Excel, this will be of great benefit because the customization and input of combinations will be much easier than trying to 'shade 'in' tickets. My guess is everyone who ever played multiple combinations had just about the same experience, but wagering online might be a couple of years off. Most states have a thing called hypocrisy and even though they have Bingo halls, casinos, horse and dog racing tracks, and the lottery, online gambling is still forbidden.

Always fill out a playslip, even for quick picks. That way if you want the next two draws, for example, you'll get the next two draws and not two lines of numbers for the next draw.

The stores that sell lottery tickets are not lottery stores, they just sell them at the customer service counters to accomodate the lottery playing customers. 100% Agreed! I always have similar situations. This chaos needs to stop. NYL needs to properly train these people.

But yeah, now I strategically choose where I play. For example, right after the evening draw is finished, I wait until 9 PM and go to a store where the clerk isn't busy. I take my time and he does too. There are no customers and no disruptive phone calls. I slowly say my numbers and he enjoys the process, with no sighs or anything.

Better yet, I can sleep until 11 AM/12... [ More ]
