People who play 1-2-3-4-5-6 or the last six numbers of a matrix far exceed 98 with your example of their orientation of the numbers being all odd numbers. The 1-2-3-4-5-6 people run in the thousands. I found this out a few years ago. In p-3 and p-4 it's triples and quads , example:333-7777.

Florida Fantasy 5 with an estimated top prize of $200,000 on Aug 28th, 2012 drew 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.

Total number of winners - 98

Amount each person won - $1,995.32

Are you saying it's better not win anything than to have to share with lots of other winners?

I'm happy when I win a few hundred bucks, sharing a jackpot with others can be worst than that.

I found one while analyzing a game's history. 10 winners in a $700,000 jackpot. None of them quick picks. Figured something was shady, but most of the winners were in different cities. Turns out the winning numbers were in denominations of 9 (like 9, 18, 27 etc)! Without consideration for conscious selection and assuming randomness, the odds of this occuring with 10 winners were over 1 in 500,000,000,000.

In California, a year ago, we had Fantasy 5 winners each take home $1,967 after winning our pick 5 game. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and the average jackpot is around $100,000, so I checked what happened that day and found out the numbers drawn were 16-17-18-19-20.

Weird things happen...

LOL I can speak from experience on that one, I bought a 12pk to a party of 8 and I got the 12 and the other 7 went to the store to get their own, I dont buy beer for other people unless i get my money upfront

That is why you avoid combinations such as 7,14,21,28,35 ((7)) or 1,11,21,31,41 (1) or 5,10,15,20,25 ((30)). Or if you have a hunch they will be drawn then you get yourself multiple tickets with the same numbers for that draw to come out ahead of everybody else.

I cant cite the exact specifics, but ... About 20 years ago the Massachusetts Megabucks had a jackpot of $3 million or so. I think this was when players picked 6 out of 36. Apparently, there were a bazillion winners who picked 4 digits or 5 digits and that eroded the jackpot down under $200k. Even so, there were a dozen(?) players who wound up splitting what was left.
