Couple more tidbits of info that came from MDI (part of the company that developed this game).

The jackpot will actually roll in $3 million increments, so it will be capped by the fourth draw. This is an improvement of 1 draw versus the previously quoted $5 million increments. The number of guaranteed $1 million Club prizes will increase by a minimum of 2 per draw. On a typical cycle where the cap is hit they expect well over 50 millionaires to be created; in longer rolls like 19-20 draws th... [ More ]

This was one of the highlights of the Monopoly pitch/presentation.....a weekly per capita potentially higher than Powerball from the onset. I personally don't know what sales will look like, but one of the top 5 lotteries in the country forecasts fewer than 85,000 tickets per drawing from their players. Roughly half of all lotteries in the U.S. have already signed on (preliminarily) to the game, but if they don't get full participation at launch it could start off with a whimper.

In this case, the second drawing occurs only if the jackpot is won. I agree, clarification is needed, and I hope they put together a thorough demonstration.

I crunched some numbers based on one of the larger state's projected Monopoly sales. Using this to gauge estimates for the other participating states, it is possible that the game could roll many times without a jackpot winner. This is what worries me about the low jackpot cap. High jackpots fuel higher sales, so if you have low jackpots... [ More ]

That's what I read in an article (different magazine), but the rules do not explicitly say. It only says that every ticket played in the jackpot-winning drawing is eligible, and that a separate drawing will be conducted. Thinking about it logically, if they have 10 Club prizes to give away, then in order for them to give them all away they would have to choose from the pool of existing tickets rather than via genuine number picking. The rules do say that each ticket will be incremented with a un... [ More ]

Okay, I have some confirmations/clarifications about the game. Everything seems to come in bits and pieces but we're getting there

As mentioned, the game draws 5 out of a pool of 52 and 1 out of a pool of 28. The 5/52 is indeed a number matrix. This will be available as user-selected OR quick pick. The 1/28 is a property matrix and this is quick pick ONLY. So a typical playslip will have only numbers but the ticket could look like 01-02-03-04-05 + Park Place, where I can choose the numbers b... [ More ]

To be honest this was very unclear to me. The exact wording on the materials says 5 of 52 + 1 of 28 properties quick pick and my source tells me instead of getting the bonus as a number you get it as a property. So I am confused as to whether the entire line is quick pick or just the property is quick pick. One of the lottery directors mentioned having more control so it very well could be the whole line as quick pick. At first I thought both 5/52 and 1/28 were properties (since the objective is... [ More ]

I imagine the odds for the secondary million dollar prizes are going to be in the 99.9% of players will never hit range, so I just can't see people shelling out $5 for this game, much less $1 or $2 we pay now for our current jackpot games. But with their 2 current jackpot games there is no reason they can't do the same thing by tweaking the odds structure and reserve pool a bit. I tend to look past potential winners and see the math. For starters, the payout is only going to be about 54%. At $5 a pop I would expect more than that. Overall odds of 1 in 10 on a $5 game? I can get better odds on a $1 scratch-off. The cap... [ More ]
