Another way of looking at this is that Illinois might be a state where the Director is greedy.

Most of the directors got their jobs because they have demonstrated they know how to maximize greed. In other words,

every action is designed to increase lottery profits by minimizing player payout.

Tennessee is a prime example where the lottery is used to siphon money from players with little payback.

I saw the same thing...backlash from Northstar's poor performance apparently.....

They won't be publishing a list until it gets closer to the actual launch, since many lotteries have only given it preliminary approval but not passed the rules. The states mentioned in the article as participating were Missouri, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan; I know that South Dakota, Maryland, and New Hampshire are also on the list, among the 22 states that have already signed on. Couple more tidbits of info that came from MDI (part of the company that developed this game).

The jackpot will actually roll in $3 million increments, so it will be capped by the fourth draw. This is an improvement of 1 draw versus the previously quoted $5 million increments. Right now the minimum cost of playing one ticket in every PB and MM drawing a year is $312 as opposed to a once a week $5 at $260 a year. PB raised the price of a ticket to $2 so they could offer a second prize of $1 million. MM also wanted a second prize fo $1 million but opted to increase the odds so the ticket price remained at $1. This game will cap the jackpot to increase the number of $1 prizes.

Lottery players will be playing less often at $5 per ticket.

In this case, the second drawing occurs only if the jackpot is won. I agree, clarification is needed, and I hope they put together a thorough demonstration.

I crunched some numbers based on one of the larger state's projected Monopoly sales. The game is based on Lotto Max and they have a second drawing when nobody wins the $50 million jackpot so I'm assuming the rules for this game will be similar. Hopefully before the game starts, MUSL will clarify the playing rules.

That's what I read in an article (different magazine), but the rules do not explicitly say. It only says that every ticket played in the jackpot-winning drawing is eligible, and that a separate drawing will be conducted. Thinking about it logically, if they have 10 Club prizes to give away, then in order for them to give them all away they would have to choose from the pool of existing tickets rather than via genuine number picking. I just heard some very disturbing news, compliments of the South Dakota Lottery.

The Monopoly Millionaires' Club jackpot is going to be capped at $25 million Jackpot amount is annuitized

Now, let me start by saying the previous jackpot cap I mentioned ($50 million) was published in the lottery standard magazine less than a month ago. Other sources agreed with this figure. The lump sum thing came straight from a lottery director. So this is pretty blindsiding to say the least.

lol....the game show entries aren't automatic....those who want to participate can enter their tickets and those who don't can throw them in the trash.

Probably one of the unique aspects of this game aside from the many millionaires is the fact that there are guaranteed winners. Winning Millions of $$$ - very cool rcbbuckeye- going on tv- not cool, at least not for me.

Out here in California, we have a $20.00 scratcher game and the odds are as follow.

Top prize is $5 mil (total 14)- odds 1-2,400,000, as of now 8 of those have been claimed, 6 remain, then the next line down is $100,000 ( total 56) so far 33 have been won 23 are still out there..Is it worth $20 a pop?- l don't know.

The main gist is that people are crying for a game that will pay a million dollars to a lot of people instead of one person winning a huge jackpot. So, this game is designed to do that along with a game show on tv that will air sometime in 2015.

Okay, I have some confirmations/clarifications about the game. Everything seems to come in bits and pieces but we're getting there

As mentioned, the game draws 5 out of a pool of 52 and 1 out of a pool of 28. The 5/52 is indeed a number matrix. This will be available as user-selected OR quick pick. To be honest this was very unclear to me. The exact wording on the materials says 5 of 52 + 1 of 28 properties quick pick and my source tells me instead of getting the bonus as a number you get it as a property. So I am confused as to whether the entire line is quick pick or just the property is quick pick. Thanks for the info. I think it is a game I will pass on I do not like the McDonald's Monopoly game and I do not like the game show idea. Quick Pick Drawn once per week (confirms my previous comment; starting date is the same) The matrix will use a pool of 52 of which the player receives 5. Lotto Max in Canada utilizes a top prize pari-mutuel structure paid in cash. So I am thinking that the U.S. version will do the same, especially with ticket price and such a low jackpot cap (if they follow habit, it won't be though ). Me too. I don't know what to think about this game and pricing. I imagine the odds for the secondary million dollar prizes are going to be in the 99.9% of players will never hit range, so I just can't see people shelling out $5 for this game, much less $1 or $2 we pay now for our current jackpot games. I could be completely wrong, and this game could end up being wildly popular. Time will tell.

Just last Wednesday, an LP member found out where I live and knocked down my front door demanding I read a certain thread, I forget which one at the moment.

While he was pointing the gun at my head, I wrestled the gun away from his hand with a distraction and gained control of the gun. The police finally showed up and he was promptly escorted away.

I'm not pressing charges because I got used to it after a few months.

Eh, mixed. I like that they are going to have 10s to 100s (their words) of millionaires when the jackpot gets hit. But with their 2 current jackpot games there is no reason they can't do the same thing by tweaking the odds structure and reserve pool a bit. I tend to look past potential winners and see the math. Thanks for the information. Yesterday the Missouri lottery sent out a survey asking if you would play a game with such and such a format and they did mention a Monopoly draw game.

The Missouri survey said the drawing would be once a week and televised from Las Vegas - not too sure about that as Nevada is so anti-lottery.

She told me about the GA 7500 week for life game about two weeks before it came out, she showed me the promotional material she wasn't allowed to post up at the time.
