If the original claim form and the ticket are nowhere to be found the only thing the copy of the claim form will prove is that you&#x27;ve got a copy of a claim form.<br /><br />That alone should tell you something about how much trust you should put in the lottery&#x27;s advice about making copies.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Actually I dont think this changes anything as there are no numbers on the reverse side of a ticket.<br /><br />Granted I think if the bar code becomes smeared or something than of course the numbers on the front of the ticke t can be manual y imputted and the ticket reddeemed that way.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>This is a really awesome question Teddi!<br /><br />I would think that in order for you to claim after a theft, or a fire, you would need to present official fire department reports, or police report.<br /><br />I sign any decent win immediately, and I always make copies. (Usually for my own records, to remember what patterns I was seeing)<br /><br />If you have a copy of the winning ticket, the winning ticket is known to be missing, and there is video evidence of your purchase, ie, atm withdrawels, sales receipt etc,</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I&#x27;ve always thought that the point of making copies was &#x27;evidence&#x27; in the event that the ticket is stolen.<br /><br />The rules may vary by jurisdiction, but I believe that in most places they will not honor copies if the loss/damage was due to player&#x27;s negligence.<br /><br />In any case, I wouldn&#x27;t expect the lottery to pay out on any copy except extraordinary circumstances or until a satisfactory period of time has passed.</p>]]></description>

From what I have read and posted the LC will only accept the actual ticket issued from the terminal as proof. I just encourage every player to store their tickets in a safe place, sign it immediately after purchase and have enough monies for Xanax should your ticket get destroyed.</p>]]></description>

His only claim was that&#x27;s me in the picture there buying my ticket .. That&#x27;s the difference here bud. But in a way I agree with them because a person purchasing a ticket doesn&#x27;t prove it&#x27;s theirs. He could have been buying it for someone else, for example. I think that&#x27;s the reason a signature is required because possession doesn&#x27;t necessarily prove ownership. If the ticket is lost, stolen or completely destroyed to the extent the lottery commission cannot validate it you cannot claim. In fact, there was a case where the lottery commission in CA was on the hunt for the winner and they had him on camera making the purchase.
