That is amazing! Do you think people just can't be bothered to turn in small winners or what?

If the Cali app is like the MD app the reader is finicky about light and if the ticket is completely flat --but mostly it seems to be a light issue when it is having trouble focusing.

California just put out a new app. It is great but there are some bugs (it doesn't read all tickets for some reason) but when it works its an amazing time saver.

I am the guy who dumpster dives for tickets and this year I have found 57 tickets that were winners and people threw them away. I found $718.00 so far. I am wondering what will happen when I scan a winning ticket with the new app.? I cant wait to find out.

I used to scan my tickets and calculate the payout with Excel, where the system was saved.

It happened that the payout was higher than published, so the calculation was not correct every single time.

I will never be one of those people who find out two months later that I've won the jackpot when I find an old ticket in my glove box. I take photos of all my tickets and usually check my numbers the same night. What I do have trouble with some times is managing my small win tickets. I often play multi-draw tickets so I will forget which small win went with which ticket or my personal assistant (OK, my husband ) will stop to get my tickets for me and I don't want to burden him with turning them... [ More ]
