But to be honest seeing how 1$ is enough I find it hard to believe someone doesn't have 1 single $, I'd flip the cushions and check my car ashtray for quarters. Unless those numbers are played in every lottery, then it adds up, 1$MM, 2$ PB, 2$ 6/49 etc.

I'm not sure if this is a great lesson or just a sad story. I don't have specific numbers that I play for the MM/PB or even Ohio's CL because A) I have never had good luck with any specific number (unless you count wife #3, she's worked out well) and B) the exact same situation you describe here. I try to play every drawing, but life often intervenes and sometimes I don't make it to the store to get my numbers.

I have a set of 30 numbers I only play when the jackpot is over 200 million. I have no idea what those numbers are and don't want to know. I take them to the machine to check and if they win I go to the clerk and get my 2 or 4 dollars. I got 30 quick pics a while ago and just decided to keep those numbers. I put them on a slip and just play the slips when the jackpot is high, and like I said, I don't know what those numbers are since I don't play them regularly.

A fix for playing the right numbers on the wrong lines was part of the early Gail Howard advertisements. Compared to today, those wheels were very complicated to make and correctly copy to play slips. Learned to always check my tickets before leaving the store the hard way when a clerk ran the same play slip twice.

not checking my regular numbers; when i dont play them, is something i have done for years. your story is the reason i follow that path. theyre not my lucky numbers as they aint won any pots yet, theyre just regulars.

it may have caused you anguish, but sharing may have saved many people from following that path. you are a saviour for uncounted peoples sanity.

Many players get that feeling after a drawing when they see the winning numbers. They wonder why they didn't play those numbers and look at their ticket only to discover they did play those numbers but each on a different line. You not only have to play the winning numbers but they all have to be in the same line to count.

That happens a lot when you play a bunch of numbers.

If you read the lottery post news forum, there is an article there about a similar thing happening to another lottery player. He and his wife always played the same numbers for years. On one fateful day, he drove straight home instead of stopping to play their numbers (even though the wife had reminded him) and that night, their numbers came up. Hate to say this, But Im pretty sure those numbers will Never come up again.

I set aside a certain amount of $ for playing and I never touch that.

I would rather eat Ramen for a Week than miss playing

Two reasons you missed your $260 million jackpot:

You are destined to win something equal or greater in value in the future You are destined to never win a jackpot in your lifetime

If you're prepared to accept either then you should have no problem with the fact that you forgot to play the lottery for one out of many draws to come.

I have the same problem every Tuesday and Friday when they draw the numbers I forgot to play. But then again I play for fun so it's not a traumatic experience for me when somebody else wins my jackpot.

Thank you lejardin for taking time out to read my story and for the good luck wish! I believe Quick Picks are the best shot of hitting a jackpot as most of the winner stories I hear win that way.

MM my heart sank reading your story, it breaks my heart. Some people have more misfortune than one can take so I understand.

I occasionally pick numbers but feel the same would happen to me if one time I DID NOT play them. If I am supposed to win, one set of numbers will come up and most likely through a qp.

That's the reason I don't have any lucky numbers I constantly play even though I have on occasions played my birthday with that of another family member and matched 4of6 years ago in Ohio's Super Lotto. I run a check on it from time to time an when ever it has had a partial hit I would have spent more playing it every drawing than I would have won.

I feel your pain but unless you play the winning numbers, they aren't your numbers and neither is the jackpot.

Thank you Enigmas! I believe in the power of being in touch with my higher self. The feeling of winning a major jackpot runs deep in me. When I visualize winning it is very vivid! I see what I'm wearing, I hear the song that is playing on the radio when I check my ticket (I am typically in the car when I check my numbers), and my heart rate increases while I visualize!
