For years I've been feeling like I am destined to win a major jackpot.  I've had a rough life and have struggled with financial issues for most of my adulthood.  I am a single mother of two with no financial support from their dad (yet he's supporting his girlfriend's 4 children).  I took my children's father to court and with two children I was awarded a whopping $36 per month and he still refuse to pay that!  Throughout the 7 years that my ex-fiance and I been broken up (I called of the engagement due to him having another woman pregnant while I was pregnant with our son) he has only given me $65 for the care of our children.  With all that being said, I feel like the universe will bless me so I can care for my children the way they deserve and to help other single mothers in my position.

I played numbers surrounding my children. 2 for how many children I have, 9 for my daughter's birth month, 11 for my son's birth month, 22 for old I was when I had my daughter, 23 for old I was when I had my son, and 12 (megaball) for my son's birth date.  I played these numbers on a regular, missing a day occasionally, since 2009.  I recently experienced a lot of painful events including losing my sister to suicide leaving my little niece behind, lost my home to foreclosure, was in a car accident leaving me immobile, and unemployed. With all of my recent misfortunes there could not have been a better time for a financial blessing.

On June 2, 2015, the Mega Millions jackpot had reached $260 million dollars.  That day I only had $17 to my name.  I decided not to play because I needed gas money to get my children to and from school.  I had played my lucky numbers the week before, but just wanted to do the responsible thing on June 2nd by not gambling my last few dollars.  Well sure enough I checked the numbers a few days later and saw my pet numbers 2-9-11-22-23 and mega ball 12.  My heart dropped! I couldn't believe that the numbers that I've been playing for years were right there in my face.  I was sick to my stomach and spent most of my day in the bed for about 2 days.

For the most part I try not to dwell on the could've, would've, should've, but from time to time I get down thinking about my missed opportunity.  I still know deep down in my heart and soul that I will win the lottery, I just hope that it will happen before my children are grown.  I visualize and meditate about winning the lottery on a daily basis.  Despite me not winning on June 2, 2015, I am still winning as I will be graduating with my degree in December!!

So my message to all us lottery-winner hopefuls is to never give up on your lucky numbers!  If you feel it in your heart never give up on your dream!!  Best of luck to you all!

I'm sorry to hear that but just stay positive and even though it's easier said than done, try not to dwell on the missed opportunity. Stay positive, keep meditating and hopefully your time will come. You've been through a lot, things that may have broken others but you keep on.

And a big congrats on your degree!

Thank you Enigmas! I believe in the power of being in touch with my higher self. The feeling of winning a major jackpot runs deep in me.  When I visualize winning it is very vivid! I see what I'm wearing, I hear the song that is playing on the radio when I check my ticket (I am typically in the car when I check my numbers), and my heart rate increases while I visualize!

I've forseen some significant events that have occurred in my life dating back to when I was 4 years old.  I am not a big casino goer, as it is not within my budget, however twice I knew if I went I would win big.  Following my heart on both occasions, I won the jackpot on the same machine! The second time I called a friend and told him the exact amount I was about to win and it happened!  The feelings I had about other events that occurred after I saw them happening is the same feeling I have about winning a big jackpot.

Thank you again for your words of encouragement!!

That's the reason I don't have any lucky numbers I constantly play even though I have on occasions played my birthday with that of another family member and matched 4of6 years ago in Ohio's Super Lotto.  I run a check on it from time to time an when ever it has had a partial hit I would have spent more playing it every drawing than I would have won.

I feel your pain but unless you play the winning numbers, they aren't your numbers and neither is the jackpot.

Those will always be my numbers as they are significant numbers in my life! I just play them in other games. Also I know that jackpot was not meant for me, but I know there is a major jackpot with my name on it! I'm claiming it! Wink

MM my heart sank reading your story, it breaks my heart.   Some people have more misfortune than one can take so I understand.

I occasionally pick numbers but feel the same would happen to me if one time I DID NOT play them.  If I am supposed to win, one set of numbers will come up and most likely through a qp.

            Good luck to you.

Thank you lejardin for taking time out to read my story and for the good luck wish! I believe Quick Picks are the best shot of hitting a jackpot as most of the winner stories I hear win that way.

I've been able to maintain a positive attitude throughout my trials and tribulations! The way I see it you can't reach for your dreams if your hands are busy holding on to the bulls_t!!

Good luck to you too hun!!

Two reasons you missed "your" $260 million jackpot:

                    1. You are destined to win something equal or greater in value in the future
                    2. You are destined to never win a jackpot in your lifetime

If you're prepared to accept either then you should have no problem with the fact that you forgot to play the lottery for one out of many draws to come.

If the chances of winning the jackpot are so slim, why play when the jackpot is so small? Your chances never change, but the potential payoff does.
If a crystal ball showed you the future of the rest of your life, and in that future you will never win a jackpot, would you still play?

Hate to say this, But Im pretty sure those numbers will Never come up again.

I set aside a certain amount of $ for playing and I never touch that.

I would rather eat Ramen for a Week than miss playing

If you read the lottery post news forum, there is an article there about a similar thing happening to another lottery player. He and his wife always played the same numbers for years. On one fateful day, he drove straight home instead of stopping to play their numbers (even though the wife had reminded him) and that night, their numbers came up. I can only imagine what went through their heads. I'm still surprised the wife didn't leave him. LOL. But they continued playing their numbers and 10 years later, they won. If I remember correctly, they won more than the missed ticket had been.

I have no idea if this will happen to you. It does seem like a one in a billion possibility. But one thing I will tell you is, get out of the mindset that you'll win a jackpot because of all the terrible things you've experienced. The lottery gods do not have a quid pro quo system set up where if you suffer this much, you'll be rewarded this much.

If you're destined to win (or manifested a destiny to win), you'll win. Some people who've never had any true hardship hit them have won, others who've won have moronically squandered their gift. If a win was determined by who deserved it or who would put it to good use, 90% of those who've won would never have seen a cent.

I might wake up early and go running.  I might also wake up and win the lottery.

The odds are about the same.

Many players get that feeling after a drawing when they see the winning numbers.  They wonder why they didn't play those numbers and look at their ticket only to discover they did play those numbers but each on a different line.  You not only have to play the winning numbers but they all have to be in the same line to count.

That happens a lot when you play a bunch of numbers.

you teach us, to " not check our numbers when we dont play 'em. "

not checking my regular numbers; when i dont play them, is something i have done for years. your story is the reason i follow that path. theyre not my " lucky numbers " as they aint won any pots yet, theyre just regulars.

it may have caused you anguish, but sharing may have saved many people from following that path. you are a saviour for uncounted peoples sanity.

That happens a lot when you play a bunch of numbers.

A fix for playing the right numbers on the wrong lines was part of the early Gail Howard advertisements. Compared to today, those wheels were very complicated to make and correctly copy to play slips. Learned to always check my tickets before leaving the store the hard way when a clerk ran the same play slip twice.
