If you think not using concatenate was dumb, wait for my next dumb move!

But if I had thought about it I probably would have used it. I use it on Two Step, but was hesitant to do anything to the Pick 3 files. Once you start adding to the data file, then you have to account for them in all the other programs. Best to make a special file and a special program. I had a look for sums of individual games out before drawn, like as in lotsoft5. I generally do not like it. It is just like another sum filter. The hope is to win straight or you loose on the payout. So you have to work straight. Front, back and outside pairs must be straight. You have to step off the boxed pairs to get rid of the grouping foolishness. After you put all straight, straight doubles are equal to straight any pair. For your corruption, this is a tripel

That worked!

The biggest question is: How deep down the rabbit hole do you want to go?

With triples you have one digit. Do you count that as one pair, three pairs or six pairs?

Likewise doubles, only two digits. Does that make three pairs or six pairs?

With singles you always have three individual forward pairs and three individual reverse pairs. Does that make a difference?

Negligible at best, but you might as well do it. You won't know if the digits 1 and 7 hit better as 17 or 7... [ More ]

Once had a boss who was an old Navy guy. Had a guy working with us who complained how hard every job he was given was going to be.

Finally the old guy got fed and told him, If this job was easy, I'd hire little girls to do it!

____I played front pair pick 3 for the second time in my life. Today I picked 90 and it was 40. The zero felt sure and it came out. I can't play by position as the lottery didn't program this. Generally lotteries work in their pockets first and don't do effort besides wanting to show off with big pots hiding big fees and taxes.

____Programming is business. I feel that it isn't easy to get to the source of knowledge and data. Some just get lucky with connections.

Seeing someone take what you posted for free and making money off it really is a kick in the face.

Year after year, I think others here ask themselves the same question: Why should I put this up when someone is going to take it and post elsewhere. Eventually some unsuspecting person is going to find it and regurgitate it right back here? And in that respect, I agree with them. Providing web content was not the intent of their post. I have no clue what to tell you. I haven't seen your charts which leaves me clueless to the difference in the two. I know why mine are the way they are and I'm happy.

This is a major reason Lottery Systems forum is sparse with information. Nobody posts to start an argument (maybe a few), but there always seems to be one when two (or more) compare the difference in how they do things. Until the what and whys are known, there is no way of knowing if either person is truly wrong.

I calculate and measure in different ways. If yours is correctly calculated, then it is in some of my charts or in Excel. Eventually you have to reconsider your calculations and check your data.

If you like filter jobs. I use my online filter that I extended with extra functions this week. I saw a few good posts by Blackapple where I agree. But, you always have to remember that these games are random. You need a bit of luck. 000 is EEE and LLL, but it still will be drawn!

I use the drawings from the official website and insert them into a database. The system mostly has no problems reading in the drawings of the day. I am not excluding an error in the data, but having gone through checks several times, I believe that it is correct on my side. It's not a problem for me, my data is mostly okay.

I check the skips with my program and found differences, so I looked at the count of drawings.

Strange, but not unheard of.

I'm using files directly from the Texas lottery site. Dunno anything about the P3 TX1650 file. When you download from the Texas site the files are pick3morning, pick3day, pick3evening and pick3night.

Can't find any errors. As of this morning there are 969 Morning draws, 4527 Day draws, 968 Evening draws, and 7190 Night draws. With the two today, that's 13654, same here.

Program is at least 10 years old. Last rewrite was 2014.

Great stuff.

Been tracking FP sums for a long time based on stuff from Blackapple. Love the charts. Makes mine look very austere.

Plenty of info on pairs here, but a couple of rules of thumb....

If you pick a pair with two odds, get an even. If you pick two evens, get an odd. (This is based on the 1/2 and 2/1 rule)

Low pairs should be played with a high digit and high pairs with a low digit.

Best info here for newbies.......

Within the formation pick4

then =

Pair = 4,3,2,1,0

Odd = 4,3,2,1,0

Example = 1596 = 3, odd and a couple

46801 = three pairs and odd

4569 =and odd 2pares

All pairs = 2,6,8,0

all Impares = 1,5,7,9

but you can position the quantities within the pick

By positioning 2 =

They are positions 6 = 1.2 1.3, 1.4 2.3 2.4, 2, 5, 3, 4, 3.5 for two positions

1.2 xx ................................. xx3,5

I am looking to match straight couples like ab xor bc for the local lottery. So the suggestion is to isolate straight pair sums.

A straight pair sum costs 1 euro and pays 50 euros. That means: 1:100 pays 50, or pay 1, get 49 for 0.01. Play all, then pay 100 and get -50.

Even better would be, make the sum of 1 digit. Play it in the straight double. Pay 10 to win 50 and get 40 for 1 of 100.

It could be. But it would have to be made into an interactive worksheet. The way it is written opens a CSV file, derives all the necessary data pass and produces the chart provided here. It's software.

Do you mean putting in 10 to 15 draws and having Excel make the pairs

No offense taken on my part, and please don't take any offense when I say with so many people working with data, it's possible for two people to stumble across the same idea without realizing it.

I'm certainly not trying to take credit for anything Jade may have done, but I wrote the program to produce this chart, just like I do all my charts. However, I do appreciate your mentioning it.

Pair sums is a term for working with the sum of pairs whether it be the front pairs, back pairs, or split pairs. Makes sense, right?

Sometimes it's easier to find a pair of number to play than a single digit. Some people prefer pairs. I got new license plate this year. They have four digits. Two sets of pairs. Or one set for the Pick 4 drawing?
