When winsum told me about the sound thing and plugging in a headset I kind of thought OH-Well, never would have seen

that as having anything to do with anything. That would put the problem in the area of the DLL files QB64 uses. I have

Here is a ebay link to a usb adapter that will connect to almost any drive be it pata, sata, 2.5, 3.5 etc.. Just plug

the unit into the hard drive and connect the cable to a usb port and the drive will then work just like a thumb drive.

RL is probably the only one who can answer this. Just been thinking how/ why did that make RL's programs work? Just throwing this out for future ideas. My software indicated some of the software in *.net was turned off. Is it possible when we plugged into the headphone jack that open those drives on? I am just thinking about the future.

If your hard drive was set up as a 32b system and your new one is 64 it may not recognize it but you can use the cable it is plugged in with and put it in the new one and see if it recognizes it if it does then copy from that hard drive and paste to new one. Chances are it wont recognize it. Your old computer crashed if it wasnt the hard drive failure then replace the ram chip (memory). That is what generally goes bad.

I am hoping to recover some of my files from my old hard drive. If anyone knows the answer please respond. My old hard drive is a Western Digital 500 g. Does anyone know what type of cable I need? The drive parameters are LBA976773168, IF THAT HELPS. Never did this before.

Well i got my hp pavilion out of closet and worked for a week on it and now it works. t-lex and dmp are up and running the fix is stupid but worked. I plugged in a headset into the front. Thats it.

I do have to give credit to winsum for that trick he came up with it not sure of the computer he used it on but mine was hp-pavilion.

Guys

The programs always need to be installed directly to the drive and not inside another directory such as Program files.

The reason for this is because the programs have pre set internal drive paths. Later versions of windows copy some

files to different locations which can cause problems. When I build the setup file I normally block the option to install

to another location to prevent problems. The drive letter can be any drive on your computer just don't install it into

I didn't have to change any computer settings before or after installation. They installed very smoothly on this computer and ran fine right out of the box. I installed using the defaults from the installers. If I remember correctly, the installers did not give me an option to change the installation path. Digit Master Pro - Big Game installed to C:\DMP-BG and T-Lex installed to C:\T-LEX .

I don't have the custom Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 version of Digit Master Pro, but Digit Master Pro - Big Game and T-Lex (from the OLD-PROS.zip mentioned above) both run fine on my computer, which has an Intel 64-bit processor. I assembled this computer from parts of my own choosing, installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit originally, and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. DMP-BG and T-Lex are installed on my C:\ drive. An update. The DMP software is still not working on the HP Pavilion. The HP support group are stumped. They referred me to their Smart Friend department. They are suppose to be their software gurus, but after working for an hour yesterday, he gave up and wanted to do some research. I showed him an image where the software worked in W10. few years back. I can tell it's age by the number of numbers keys is 60 vs the newer version which goes to 100.

Your version should still work but wanted to let you know it's not really that useful as power ball and mega millions

I just maintain my codes and don't keep track on what was working years ago on version X after update Y. I've seen positive changes with the server I rent, the browser eventually is better too. I just would like to get the network spies blocked.

Got pulled away all day and just getting back. All the programs I have uploaded should be installed or copied

directly to your main drive. Newer versions of windows have funky ways of managing data files which creates

problems when these files are moved outside the main directory. Installing to C:\ prevents this as far as I know.

I always build two partitions on all my systems, C:\ and D:\ and then install to the D:\. The programs run faster

That one is for cash 3/play 4 games. DMaster Pro is for the big games. T-lex is also for the gig games I think.

That didn't help at all...DMP wrote its own folder to the root directory. And.....

opened right up. (This is the Acer, Windows 10, with Intel HD graphics. The JPG is bigger than the DMP window on the desktop!)

Here's another maybe....try going back to Steve's (winsum's) last link downloading a fresh copy. Uninstall everything and then reinstall with the new download?

Maybe ........

You should just link all your workbooks in a nervous system. That way they just spit out the winning combination to play.You could place a new workbook on your harddrive linking and factoring all the results merging the right decisions.

Those OS versions can give you mean headaches. You also loose a lot of time by not knowing what you should do to solve the problems if solvable.

Maybe rather than try to install DMP from a stick, I should copy all the files to the hard drive and try to install it from there.

What gives me this idea is I just installed the newest version of QB64. On my first try I attempted to put it in a different folder. Gave me an IDE controller error. When I went back and let it make its own folder (in Downloads) it works just fine.

That's more a reflection on Windows 10 than anything else.

If one or more of the net framework versions are missing from your computer then just google Net framework 3.5 for

windows 10 and you should get a link to the microsoft website. Just follow the instructions from there.

I just found this for windows 10

Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel

Bob, you got me about the display driver. I suppose it could be. One computer is using Radeon drivers, the other has Intel HD graphics.

The programs I write run on both Windows 10 machines. And RL and I both write in QB64. But I don't know what version DMP was written under so it may need additional .NET Framework files. Check to see you have Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2.

I also found there is an option in the control panel of Windows 10 to Run Programs made for previous versions of Wind... [ More ]

Exactly how old is your old computer? 10-15 years? if it was an xp machine then it might not matter if it is 32 bit prog and is running in compability mode. Oh and btw W10 sucks, crashed my comp twice, had to back to W8, now everything works again. Beware W8.2 that will eventually upgrade to win 10.

You might try writing an exception for your firewall. Windows 10 has it's glitches and I'm not sure how it treats programs in the root directory.

If I remember there were a couple of people who posted to RL about a problem like that in one of his threads. I can't remember if he told them to uninstall and reinstall or not.

Found it.....No luck with the DMP - dg1 files.

Wouldn't even create the files in the Acer (Windows 10) machine.

I tried that since you were running Windows10 and there was no way I could mess anything up in it.

Another problem I saw from time to time on the Acer is the Windows Shell program will close unexpectedly.

This machine wasn't supposed to be an online machine. It was set up for CAD work and Gcode. The other Windows 10 machine is not even being used at the moment. Had to reset it to factory setting. That POOFS all the programs the user installs.

Anyway, where's the download link and I'll see what happens here.

That may give some clues, thank you. If the program ran in W10 on my older machine, you would think there would be no problems. The blip makes me think something shuts it down when it attempts to open. If the program gave an error message, that would help.

Bob, I have an older HP Pavillion I use on the CNC. It runs XP. Haven't tried DMP on it.

Don't know if that would do you much good, but I'd try if you like.

First thing I'd try is the Troubleshoot Compatibility in Windows 10.

(I upgraded two windows 8 machines to Windows 10. Every time there is an update, the Acer (the newer machine) loses all connectivity to the net. From that I suspect there are some problems with Windows 10.

A 64-bit system will run 32-bit and 64-bit programs, and a 32-bit system will run 32-bit programs but not 64-bit programs.

It is a 32-bit system, but I have been told an HP tech, it will run either. The program will install but when trying to open you only get a blip and closes. I had the programs running on my old computer. My feeling is somewhere there is a HP program conflict, not a W10 problem. My last step is to clean this harddrive and reinstall the data from my old harddrive. I was hoping someone on the forum was running the software with the same type computer.

Or is the installer itself is not working?

If it's an installer try run as administrator if you haven't tried.

I haven't used DMP. I have given some common suggestions.

My computer crashed, I bought an HP Pavilion, good price on black Friday. Been trying for 2 weeks to get RL-Randomlogics DMP and Tlex to run, no luck. Both programs ran on my old machine in W10. Have tried everything I know. Does anyone on this forum run the software on this type of computer? The computer came with a lot of HP software, besides Windows. I have deleted a lot of the added on software, still no luck.
