Ask the clerk where you buy your lottery tickets to print out the drawing results on the Lottery Terminal.

There is a certain positive energy that comes with knowing the payouts. I can't put my finger on it in a way that is clear enough to articulate here. But the energy is there for me when I see the payout info.

I would quit playing the two games if I saw (for example) that constantly only 1 or 2 tickets were actually being paid on straights.

If you want to see the payouts for a game, go to the Lottery Post results page for the state (www.lotterypost.com/results/mi) and click on the Payouts link directly next to the game.

The illinois lottery web page publishes a table of payouts for all games except Pick 3 and Pick 4. This data would be be helpful in fine tuning the wagers one places on these two games. It should not be too hard to do.

For example:

Midday Pick 4: 1234

Winners: Straight $250 = 12 Straight $500 = 10 Box $40 = 21 Box $80 = 15
