$30+$30+$20+$20 does equal $100 but you can also get there by using four actual prizes - $25+$25+$25+25 so the fake prizes make no sense

I can't speak much for other state lotto scratch offs, but it happens pretty regularly in FL...esp with winning prize spots that are lower than the ticket cost but show up multiple times on a winning ticket (examples 1 2). It also happens once in awhile on larger wins (example 3). Pics below are all mine and from current FL games.

There was no other $20 on the front of the ticket.

The tickets printed in Michigan don't do prizes that way. I always scratch the tickets off and match the prize amounts on the front with the prize amounts on the back and this is the first time since the scratchers started in 1975 in Michigan that I have seen fake prize amounts on the tickets.

In PA each game has two documents you can download online one gives odds...the other gives instructions on the game. On the odds form it shows odd by each prize and does so by breakdown.

So it would show $100 prize $50+50. Then the odds of winning it

They $100 prize $30+$30+$20+20 and the odds of winning it

I have NEVER ever encountered any scratch tickets in Michigan that have prize amounts printed on the front that are NOT also printed in the list of prizes you can win on the back.

Either they are error tickets or Michigan recently changed the way they do instants.

I have not bought a scratcher in a while but today I got a $5 Mega Black ticket.

I Scratched the winning numbers off and matched one of them in the prize area and got my $5 back.

After I found out I won I scratched the whole ticket off and found two spots where $30 prizes were listed and one spot where a $20 prize was listed.

I flipped the ticket over and there were no $20 or $30 prizes listed on the back.
