If you watched the video from the draw before this one you'll see the background goes completely black and yet the announcer doesn't even blink an eye. My guess there are a couple of different video that they splice together (I'm sure there's a more techy term for this ). My question would be how many people have access to the video of the actual draw beforehand.

The draw video on youtube shows the lady saying tonight , giving the impression the draw was before all the ticket data was in (and I hope digitally signed to prevent tampering). That opens up the possibility of cheating by an insider. Or it could be that the teleprompter script was not updated to read this morning instead of tonight .

Early news indicates a single winner from California. If that is true, we now know a friend of the possible insider cheat.

I've no idea what the problem is or what's even going on with it.

If it's a dataprocessing problem (A computer crashed because it was overwhelmed with the volume/amount of data which is a very common reason for computers go down) they will need quite a bit of time to restore it to the state it was at prior to crashing - especially if it's a mainframe.

The Powerball drawing scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7 remains delayed. Currently, one participating lottery is still processing its sales and play data. Powerball requires all 48 participating lotteries to submit their sales and play data prior to the winning numbers being selected. Once Powerball receives the outstanding submission, the drawing can proceed.
